I think he will want to finish out strong, but who knows what kind of effort he will get from the team

Well, seeing as how the team (according to Ramon Foster) is finally going to show some serious intensity and emotion finally the VOLS may pull it out.

Or not.

You'd think just from a pride perspective that Fulmer would work like heck to win his last three games at UT.

I dunno.

I've got to figure he's pretty motivated to win out if for nothing else to prove that the staff that he has with him could turn it around, as he stated in his resignation speech. That being said, motivation and execution are different things. From the look of Phil on the sideline all year, and the fact that he's shown a lot of emotion, even before his job was on the line (see UCLA), I'm pretty sure he's been motivated all year. Somehow it's getting lost before it makes it to the players on offense though.

We can't score points on offense. It will be tough to beat vandy or kentucky. I don't see anyway they win out. Thats a bad football team.

Good point. If we can't get the ball in the end zone or through the uprights, we're screwed.

Oh wait. We've been screwed all season.

I think he will be very motivated. As already mentioned, he will be wanting to prove his statement about being able to turn things around was the truth. I'm sure he would love nothing more than to win out, go to a bowl, and win that too just to stick to to Hamilton.

However, I don't think this will happen because we are so bad. He will be motivated, though.

How would beating Wyoming, Vandy and Kentucky 'prove' that he could turn things around? They aren't exactly the Titans of college football.

If they really are going to start "playing" then maybe we should have told them that Fulmer resigned at the begining of the season as a joke, so they would have done this the whole season.

If I were Fulmer i would try all kinds of odd plays like fake punts, hail-mary's, on-side kicks, single wing...etc. Time to have fun with it now and open it up.

You mean like this??!!

I'd love to see it.

Since the offense has had so much trouble, even with plays they have been practicing since last spring, how well could they pull off 'gimmic plays' after less than a week's practice? On second thought, maybe they wouldn't need such plays against Wyoming.

i can see the defense playing lights out the rest of the season. the offense, even if they do play with alot of fire, still just doesn't execute well. we're still gonna have problems.

i think the vols beat wyoming, lose to vandy (or win in a close game), and beat the crap out of kentucky.

I have a feeling we win all 3, with the defense just playing stellar. The offense will look better, or at least score some points, since we aren't playing top notch defenses, although Vandy's seems decent (or it did).

I truly hope that Fulmer goes out with solid wins in all three games. While I am thankful that his tenure is coming to an end, he deserves to go out with some solid wins. I hope our players bring their A game and knock the snot out of the Cowboys, 'dores, and Wildcats!

From the thread title, I thought the question would be about how motivated CPF is to coach.

When I listened to the presser yesterday (the normal one, not the announcement) he reiterated his interest in coaching. Yet, he still stands strong by UT.

I'm thinking he just might get an offer to coach somewhere at which the state talent is not so great, and an excellent recruiter is needed. Kentucky comes to mind.
