Can the Vols hold him to under a 100? How important is stoping DJ? If he hits say 200 yards can we still win?

I say he gets 85 yards.

Is that 85 yds receiving or 85 all-purpose yards?? If it's 85 all-purpose yards then I like our chances against Cal. If that's just 85 yds receiving, it depends on how much he gets on punt/kick returns.

It's an interesting question to ponder and there is really no way to answer the question without having had the opportunity to see UTK's secondary in action. Low end I'd guess 5 receptions for 45 yards. High end 8 receptions for 145 yards. Anyone who punts to him is a fool so let's hope the PR yards are zero. Even with Forsett, I would expect at least one running play (probably a reverse) where they try and get the ball in DJ's hands ala Percy Harvin.

What I'm about to say will sound like I'm being a smartass but I'm serious....

Do you mean before or after we put the game out of reach? Cause he did some good things against us last year....when it didn't matter

I was a lot more confident in the secondary last year. This is going to be an interesting test for the defense and it sucks that it's in the first game of the season but it will be good preparation for dealing with Harvin.

Jackson has publicly stated that he doesn't want to return kicks due to his size and the likelihood of fewer touchbacks and more collisions this year.

He probably remembers the opening kick off in last years game.

Just checking my email during lunch then I gotta run. I just wanna say he will probably have about 224 all purpose yards. What with him returning kicks and punts now. Also, it's Desean, not Deshawn. Talk to you guys tonight when I release my report on why Tenn is going down. I have a feeling Desean will be all over that report. See you there!

T-Minus 14 days till it's Football Time in Califonia (and Tennessee)

Rushing + passing + receiving+ kick off return + punt return
I know what APY is. You were right, except for the passing yds (which are used in a player's total offense stats). APY is silly given a kickoff returner whose d gives up 8 scores in a game will have well north of 150 yds in just getting kickoffs back to the 20. Just meaningless.
