Considering both of them could be injured, the world could end, we could find a defense, pigs can learn to fly, or any other number of events could occur between now and the 7 weeks leading up to that game. The 7 weeks leading up to that game. Yep, all 7 of them.

McFadden gets hurt a lot, but he'll still get about 150 against UT's "defense."

Conservatively they will BOTH have 150 yards. Yeah, way to be realistic. Yes our defense is bad. But, that is a ridiculous number when you put conservatively in front of it.

McFadden is averaging 173 yds/game and Jones is averaging 119 yds/game. UT's defense is a lot worse then average. They are averaging 6 and 9 yds/carry respectively.

Jones had 133 and McFadden had 173 against Kentucky, a better team.

The fact that UK is a "better team" might be true. But, as bad as our defense is, to say UK has a better defense than ours is easily debatable. UK defense is horrible too.

By then they will have worked like heck so they should hold them to 10 yards each.

The whole premise of this thread actually annoys me seeing as we don't play Arkansas for over a month. However, I like reading on this site I opened it up and voted and posted a few time but how in the world can one speculate how many yards these guys might have in a game that is a month and a half down the road.

What if....we jump out to a big lead and nulify their running game?

What if....one of them gets injured?

What if....we actually show signs of defensive improvement before then?

Too much speculation but I can guarantee anyone here that there is NO WAY they combine for 400+ rushing yards...mark it down...NO WAY...

So many variables go into those stats that you cant compare them like apples to apples right now. They have not played the same competition. And, we are not saying UT has had a better run defense so far this season as much as saying our potential to stop the run on defense is better than UK's. We have better defensive talent than UK. We might not improve any at stopping the run (which I dont think will be the case). If we don't improve any over the next several weeks before we play Arkansas then at that point I will say that our defense is as bad as UK's. I think with our talent on defense, with the new additions into the lineup, it will have to get better.

If pigs learn to fly, I think we have a poor shot! :peace2::birgits_giggle:

Will Monk be back for that game? With the way our secondary covered him last year(he was playing with broken ribs also), if I were Arky, I wouldn't even bother to run I'd just throw it up to him every time.

I hate to say it but the 97 Orange Bowl against Nebraska comes to mind. I dont believe they would rush for that much, but I believe that could run through our line like the Huskers did way back in the day.

The week of the Arkansas game, when this actually matters, I think I am going to start a poll that asks how many yards does Ainge throw for against Arkansas' pathetic excuse for a secondary.
