Why do you say that? This is a roster full of his players. If 7-5 is his best, then he's not the right person for the job.

I think this will be the worst team talent wise in the last 3seasons.
Not to say it's bad talent by any stretch. But it's not a high end or deep, IMO.
I also don't expect continual linear progress like some do.

The first 2 years were brutal for reasons that don't need to be rehashed.

LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia are the teams we need to go 2-2 against because they are as equally or more talented on paper.

Kentucky and Vandy on the upswing, Muschamp as UT's kryptonite, new faces on the field and in the coaches meetings.

I feel like it's a transitional year and we aren't at a high enough level yet where one of those looks like 9-3 or 8-4.

Anything but making the CFP is a firing offense, he's been here long enough

10-2 with a bowl loss and do not win the East is a firing offense.

10-2 with a bowl win but do not win the East is a firing offense

9-3 with a bowl win. Not fired but on the hot seat for many of the VN folks

8-4 with a bowl win Hot Seat from UT

Anything less than 8 wins.....He gone.

Oh..this again. Stupid and redundant. I know it's the off-season, but is there really nothing else to talk about?

This is like a push poll for Negavols

This is a dumb post!!! Not only is it dumb, but it is destructive to the very football team you profess to love! You know we are recruiting at a very high level right now, and then you make such an idiotic post! How is a post like this going to help? Thread should be deleted!

dont blow a gasket now

He is not getting fired if he wins 8 unless there is some off the field issues. Winning 10 and losing a bowl is not getting him fired nor would he be on the hot seat.

Also you did not consider that the 2 losses could be the Alabama and LSU which would probably imply that Tennessee won the East.

And the 9-3, win the east lose the bowl = fired is laughable.

Good grief. The bottom has to completely fall out either on the field or off the field for for a firing to happen. And that is not a trend that Coach Jones is known for.

I say it is more likely that he walks away from all this stupidity before he is fired.

I don't think you can actually say that with absolute certainty.

An 8-4 season in 2017 that has us 4-4 again with conference losses to Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Florida, would reinforce the idea that CBJ has plateaued in his SEC coaching ability.

If Currie already has a replacement in mind, he could pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

8 wins or more - 100% chance he's back

7 - 75%, maybe higher

6 - 60‰ maybe higher

5 or less - pretty good chance he's gone (depending on circumstances)

These polls answers should have gone the other way...starting with about 5 wins and working your way up.

Winning 7 games or less this year should be a fireable offense, but I'm not sure he actually would be because of the buyout. He's probably our coach until 2018 at the earliest barring a scandal or some just ridiculously bad performance, like a 4 win season.

This "SEC East or bust" for 2017 is ridiculous; there are question marks at several positions this year, including QB, and we're staring at least 4 losses right in the face (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU).

If you gonna make a poll for VolNation, brother, you need to embrace the wide divergence of opinions that make up this community.

If your poll asks "fire him if he doesn't ________," you're going to need to go well below 8-4 regular season. Or you're just not giving an option that matches the opinions of some folks here. Perhaps a lot of folks here.

Be like saying, A Poll! How Many Days A Week Do You Commit Felonies?

Good luck straightening this one out.

There are some VN folks who must create a poll every so often, or they believe their heads might explode. As long as they don't drink and drive, or they just say no to crack (yes, that includes plumbers who pull up their pants), I guess there are more pressing issues to worry about.

There have been at least 423,789 negative Butch Jones posts on this site alone.

Yet, Butch is still recruiting pretty well.

But, this one is going to run the class off.

It very well may, were it not for the fact that every SEC fanbase is basically as delusional as ours. So, when they read it here and get cold feet, they'll read the same garbage at UK, or AU, or UFs sites etc. So, lesson #1 to a successful playing career is "write off the fans as crazy, and do your job".

People want what they want and they want it now or they'll pout, kick, and scream. The epidemic has infiltrated our land.

I am more inclined to believe it will take a scandal. The plan to rebuild the reserve fund is still in effect, and paying the buyout Hart gave Butch will keep Currie's finger off that trigger.

Butch's seat might get warm this year, but it is nowhere near as hot as you wish.

Stopped reading past your first one. Absolutely asinine.

10-2 with a bowl loss is not going to get him fired.

What will UT/Currie do?
Id say 8 and up and he makes another season.
7 is the toss up number.
6 or less and he makes it easy.

8 wins cements he has stalled out and he's an average coach in a poor division.

we could win six and he ain't going anywhere...now, having said that...if we only win six the following year, then Mr. Currie will light a fire under his azz...:)

GO VOLS!
