Texas, UGA, and Bama/UT/LSU.

If we want to get in we really need to beat either Bama or UGA and obviously win the rest

Most down year I’ve seen in the SEC. Guess it could be that teams are actually that equal but seems like everyone sucks. I don’t know how many make it but none of the SEC teams look like they deserve to be in it to me.

I think 3 but nobody in college football just really stands out to me. Maybe the ducks as much as I hate to say it. I wasn't impressed but they handled the buckeyes.

I don't think it is a down year - I think it is more of the conference being loaded with a lot of really good teams that are going to beat each other.

As of now, based on the season so far, I think:
B1G: Champ+2(Oregon, OSU, PSU)
ACC: Champ+1(Clemson, Miami)
B12: Champ+0(who cares?)
Non-P4: (Boise?)
Notre Dame: ?

That leaves 4-6 spots depending on non-p4 and Notre Dame. I think the SEC gets Champ+3(or more) if we're ranking the best teams in the country. If record plays too much of a part, Champ+2, but that leaves 1-3 spots, and who is playing better competition who deserves it more?

Pittsburgh is undefeated.

Pittsburgh is undefeated.
They dont have much of a resume and only really Clemson on the schedule. Still dont see more than 2 ACC teams in. The interesting one is Georgia Tech. IF they can go undefeated the rest of the way, meaning they beat ND, Miami and Georgia... would a 10-2 GT make it in with those wins? I think so.

3 or 4 , the SEC has been cannibalizing each other for weeks . The big 10 just started to cannibalize each other this week .

The ACC is hard to pick how many. I think for sure 1 G5, 1 Big 12 and ND is in at 10-2.

Think this is more the norm now w/ NIL and transfer portal. NFL type league...you can show up and win or lose on any given Saturday. IF our OL was up to snuf, we'd be sitting in a really good spot...but we're flawed, just like most everyone else, except maybe TX, UGA. Think about it though, if UGA beats TX this week and we pull off an unforeseen win vs Bama, we're right there in the mix...still w/ a team that could easily lose to UGA, KY, Vandy.

I'm not sure that anyone is really that good right now. Maybe that's a good thing ultimately for Vols...and CFB. Kinda tired of starting the season, knowing UGA or Bama or OSU is going to win it all.

B1G and Big12 aren't putting up a lot of solid candidates so 4 to 5 SEC teams are feasible.

Big12 has BYU and who else right now?

B1G has Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State. The rest is a mess

ACC has Clemson and Miami, maybe Pittsburgh

SEC is in a good spot to get 4-5
