How many Super Bowls would Peyton have won with a Defense close to this D?

I saw this brought up in the Peyton hater thread and knew it was only a matter of time before this hypothetical had its own thread.

I truly believe that Peyton would have at least a couple more rings if he played under Belechek (sp?) in NE. However, I wouldn't have wanted him to play for the evil empire bc I wouldn't want his integrity compromised by playing with a cheating team.

Couldn't this also be said for pretty much any qb? If they had a stellar defense wouldn't most any qb have a better chance at winning more?

When Brady had the weapons in 2006 he went undefeated but lost the Super Bowl.

I love the Manning/Brady rivalry but there is no real way settle it.

Yes Brady has more rIngs but he had better defenses in his early years and has had the same coach the entire time.

Manning has the all the regular season records and MVPs plus a 3-1 record vs Brady in the AFC championship. Now he is going to his 4th Super Bowl with his 4th HC which is unprecedented.

They are both great and honestly it's sad to see it come to an end.

The NFL is not going to be the same without both of them.

He never beat the Gators...only thing I hold against him...:cray:

GO VOLS AND PEYTON!

He lost to memphis costing us a Chance to play FSU for a NC. He lost to Nebraska in the NC game.

Didn't he beat Bama and Ga every year?

He set is up for 98 an 99.

Great asset to the program. I've got his picture hanging in my house.

He's alright in my book.

Go Vols!

Go Broncos!

Indy should have beaten the Saints. Indy's defenses usually stepped it up in the postseason so its not like he played with terrible defenses. I agree that he would have probably 2-3. It sucks that he gets a defense this good at the end of his career.

I read where someone said what if he played for BB or the Pats. Here is a flip side to that coin, how many more SBs would Brady have if he had the offensive weapons Manning has had?

That onside kick was one of the ballsiest calls in SB history.

This is such a bad myth at this point guys... Peyton has played with, I think I read, 9 defenses in his career that have been in the top 8 in the league. Eventually the whole "Peyton's defenses always sucked" story has to be abandoned.

Peyton would be the undisputed best qb of all time under CBB, just like Brady is now imo. Manning is now 3 out of 4 against them in AFC Title Games as it is. Says a bunch if you ask me.

I don't care if the Broncos had the number one defense when they played the Seahawks. How many times was Peyton sacked, 8+? The better question is if Peyton had an offensive line to give him time to throw as he is good in the pocket but can't scramble.

If he had a D to speak of his entire career. Then GOAT arguments wo u ld be non existent.

Replace Tom Brady with PM on the pats And I could promise you at least 3 more Rings then they have won. Brady has been carried by his team for a very long time.

Tell me specifically what seasons they would have won those three other rings.

Didn't he have pretty good-great lines in Indy though? Or am I mistaken?

Brady is 0-5 against the Manning brothers in Super bowls and AFC championships. That's as not clutch as you can get. And Peyton is 3-2 against Brady in the playoffs period now.

1-5

But leave Eli out of this; there's no real reason to include his numbers in this discussion other than to skew statistics for more favorable numbers.
