How many Sacks

I would caution everybody about tempering their expectations at the outset. Some of these expectations are products of some past flashes of talent and some are based upon anticipated talent that hasn't developed in real time yet. There is some potential energy waiting on a closed circuit where we can see watts currently in motion from this D.

Who shot you??

Does our D get this season? I am predicting between 40-45 with a HUGE increase in coverage sacks. I think our pass rush will not only be among the best in conference but in all of CFB.

That would jump us up within top 10 in the country.

K, glad you were able to clear this up for everybody.

We had 34 last season, and I expect to see modest improvement, so I'd say around 40. I'll be optimistic, agree with beachbums, and say 42.

Edit: apparently we had 35 last year, not 34.

What's the record for team sacks in a season?

I tried looking it up but can't seem to find an answer. It's not on the NCAA's website among other single season team records.

I don't think it helps that the NCAA didn't start officially recording defensive stats until 2000.

I didn't think it would be a hard stat to find...I didn't find the answer either.

Utah had 55 last season in 13 games but I can't believe that is the record.
