How many players can we confirm arrive on campus today?

What are the odds that we take a player that may have been committed else where; that's ready to early enroll if Henderson and Cramer are not?

Been talking to Thompkins but putting yourself in a kid's position, you got to think that would be a tough quick switch.

Understood, thanks! We have an amazing class, however I would love to see something positive and unexpected happen.

Couple more notes on mid-term guys

Owen Williams moved to Knoxville on Sunday and is getting settled in. He told me coaches were just as excited to see him when he arrived on Sunday as the day he called them to commit. We'll have a full story on him tomorrow.

Josh Malone also has been moving today, as of course have been Jalen Hurd and D'Andre Payne, among others. All those guys have been in the complex and getting settled in, we are told.

Dontavius Blair is closing out a couple of online classes and told VolQuest that he can't wait to arrive in Knoxville this weekend, that he's been working for this moment since he first left for junior college.

There's a team meeting scheduled for tomorrow that we've told you about previously, and guys like Marcus Jackson were already in the weight room busting it today. Team seems eager to dive into offseason, and Butch and others around the program have told me it will be dialed up considerably from even a year ago.

We'll all post more as we grab it and keep coming with as many stories as we can.

I don't know about you guys but I am so glad we are back to deciding who gets a "last spot" instead of looking for someone just to fill out leftover schollys.

Agreed. It's quite the refreshing change from years past. Thank goodness the Dooley days are over!

Come on N2! You didn't like being on the edge of your seat battling Furman down to the wire for guys? Don't really understand you at all?

That is correct. Once they step foot in a classroom the first day of classes, their scholarship is active and they are committed. Signing the LOI on NSD is just a formality.

Te big day is when they start classes. Once they go to a class they are locked in for sure. I am not sure when classes start?

Classes start Wednesday. My daughter is a freshman and she's heading back over today, weather permitting.

As I recall, if the athlete is on campus at midnight on the first day of classes, the athlete is committed according to NCAA rules. This is the reason that Tennessee was able to hold onto the early enrollees the year Kiffen bolted - after the recruits were told not to attend classes by Orgeron. Juwaun James left campus but came back, so he had a choice. I think there was one other person who had not made it to campus, maybe Brandon Willis, and did not count as an early enrollee. The only way the players could get out who were on campus the night before classes started was if UT would release them from their scholarship. So anybody here on Tuesday midnight is committed under AA rules. That is assuming classes start on Wed per poster above.

Any benefit including them staying in university provided housing pretty much locks them in. The above is correct.

Is Blair the last piece of the puzzle the rivals article was referencing or are we looking at one more no one was counting on like a wr or dt not committed yet

Blair and Henderson.

Blair was never scheduled to be here before the weekend. Henderson is still working through some paperwork stuff and the weather having closed NCAA offices has slowed down that process.
