The 2013 SC game was my wife's 1st game. Great 1st game.

My oldest daughter went to the Ole Miss game at Oxford. She came out singing Hottie Tottie. I was not pleased. Were they cheating back then too?

Her 1st game at Neyland was WC. Then it was at Fl.

Well you get the idea.

I'm at 13.

Go Vols!

Took my wife, Kathy (we were dating then), to her 1st UT game at USCjr in 2006. She's 3-1 at UT games. The lone loss was against PSU in the Outback Bowl after that season. She's from PA so there's that.

I've got a friend from Pa. I forgot to count him and his wife.

3 now that I've thought about it. The first was the wife (UCLA 09). I took a fan of the other UT to a game in 2012 (or 13), it was a smaller game and raining. And technically my buddy at the MCB this past season. I plan on taking my daughter to her first game this season

In '86 I took a girl who was from Knoxville but had never been to Neyland to the Army game. After the loss I walked her back to her dorm and asked that she never attend another UT game.

In 2007 I took my then wife to the Cal game in Berkeley.

Could I kindly ask that you go alone from here on out?

Yeah. After thinking about it, also in '86 my girlfriend came up for the Bama game - we could date other people - and that was one ugly game. I certainly should never again take a woman to her first Vols game.

Interesting question that made me tap into the recesses of my memory. Made me remember some good times with my kids, my deceased dad and brother. Thanks for the post.

Okay, specifically, in no particular order:
My pastor and his wife
my brother
my wife
my 3 kids
a (troubled) kid that lived with us for a while
a lady in church, her daughter and fiancé

Of course my dad took me to my first UT game, 1983, LSU @ UT ...
I remember reading in the tiny game program about the tie game the year before, and a piece about Mike "Stop" Cofer. I was 10 years old at the time and I've been hooked ever since.

The first person I took was my Dad while I was in college. He had followed the Vols for years but had never been to a game in person. It was UCLA. I was able to buy tickets, not sure if students can do that anymore or not but I was able to.

My husband took me to my first game in Knoxville in 2006. It was the Marshall game and it was raining like crazy, thundering and lightning too. No running through the T, no Vol Walk, and when we walked from our parking lot we had rain up past our ankles. It finally cleared up enough for them to play and it was a great game and I had a blast. LaMarcus Coker had a big run. Now we travel all over the place to see our Vols play!! I can't wait for the opening game in Atlanta in September, but nothing compares to a game in Neyland Stadium.

I have been lucky enough to bring several people to their first game.

Just last year I brought several that were here for work
8 guys from England (First American football game)
8 guys from Rhode Island

One of the guys from England just came back on vacation with his family and both of his kids were sporting UT gear.

I couldn't say how many other over the years but it has always been fun to see them enjoy the tailgate and then go into the game.

I got a friend of mine that I (we) took to her first vol game against Georgia a couple years ago when we were down by 17 with a couple of minutes to go in the second quarter. She's now 3-0. Total I think it's 9 if you include those that took me to their first games (I didn't drive).

Let's see...

My Wife (wasn't married at the time) went to her first game at UF in 2001. She proceeded to nearly knock out a UF fan who threw a beer bottle at her after the game.

My son's first game was 09 at home against UGA. Technically, my wife was almost 8 months pregnant when we went to the 04 game at home against UF.

My daughter's first game was the Music City Bowl. She was 3. She hasn't been to Neyland yet.

I've taken numerous friends/business associates to their first UT game. I think that number is around 16-18.

I took my wife to her first game, it was the UCLA game the day it was so hot that Smokey had a heat stroke and died. We sat in the student section in the sun, and my wife nearly died! I thought she would never go back, but she has thank goodness. And of course I took my son to his first game. It was the Florida game we won on a late FG, can't remember the year, but it was the one where the Florida WR retaliated against a UT DB, we got the ball back and kicked the winning FG. What year was that?
