I ask because (and I'm probably really late to this knowledge) both next gen consoles will not be able to support 3rd party headsets at launch and won't for some time.

Got me to wondering how many of you use aftermarket headsets?

My son used Turtle Beach headsets for a long time, but they're so fragile he was going through 3 or 4 sets a year.

He now has a set of Steel Series Siberia V2 that he absolutely loves and that have lasted for the better part of a year.

I used TB's to begin with but had the same issue so I got some Astro a40's. Great headsets but now I'm learning that I won't be able to use them.

I own a turtle beach headset that I really enjoy. I will probably but TB for the next gen.

I love using a headset. I mute the TV so my house doesn't sound like a war zone.

I don't like the thought of not being able to do that for awhile and I really don't want to use the Kinect to chat.

I love it also. The wife can't complain about all the loud noise haha

Indeed. That's what's so frustrating. I want a new console but not being able to use my headset is going to make me wait.

I used to rock a headset back in the day. Then I graduated college, got a full-time job, got married, and had a kid.

Wife and kids are the reason I use a headset. I play when the kids are asleep or if the wife is studying or sleeping.

I feel you. My system is down in the man cave (basement) so that ain't necessary. I also got tired of little teenage clowns acting like fools as well.

I used Turtle Beach x42s (wireless) for a while but of course, they're now broken. I'm looking for a new set, but the Xbox One's ridiculous policy of no third party headsets for a year is keeping me from it...

I mentioned this awhile back, Ms/Sony really should provide a +21 online gaming community.

I don't even bother mic'ing up unless grouped with friends

I gotta say, I love my Onkyo 5.1 surround sound system, but I tried out a friends surround sound headsets, and i'll be damned if it wasn't amazing. Cant believe a headset can recreate that sort of sound.

Go Vols!

I love my Astro a40's. I only wear them when I play COD and if I'm playing Search I can literally hear a guy walking across the map.

Yep, they're fragile. I'm always having to do something to make them work right.

I use the ear buds with built-in mic that came with my Samsung smart phone and Teamspeak while playing World of Tanks. Nothing fancy, but it works.

Love headsets. I have a pair of wireless Turtle Beaches and a wires pair of Astros. I can't imagine playing without one. I need every advantage I can get.

Every review that I am reading about on stock PS4 headset is bad. Hopefully the release an update quickly to support third party headsets.
