How many of you are tired of Heupel not able to win big games??

Am I missing something? Was the 2022 Bama game a dream? Or the 24 Bama game? Or that Orange Bowl against Clemson? Or that win in Norman against Oklahoma last September? Were those not "big games"? Or is this one of those new "narrative" things that popped up because we laid an egg in Columbus in the CFP and choked it away last Saturday against the puppy dogs?
For some on here if we win its not a big game, somehow that makes the team we're playing inferior. I guarantee if Max hit the FG and we won. There would be a number on here saying well we beat a depleted UGA team this is not the normal elite team Kirby puts on the field. Book it.

Time to give him a nice bonus, thank him for his service and send him on his way.
You. Are. Not. Bright!

I completely washed wrong about this hire. The first few months I thought Danny White took the easy path hiring the same guy he had at UCF. ONCE Heupel started calling plays I realized hey give this guy a chance. Has he been perfect? Of course not. However if he was relieved of his duties here only a few jobs would not make the hire at seasons end and thats because they are too soon into their current coaching experiment or that coach is rolling. I bet you Bama would trade Kaelen Deboer for Josh Heupel. I either feel you are not serious or not a fan of the University of Tennessee. Which is it?🤔

Any of these would be an improvement: Kliff Kingsbury, Aaron Glenn, Vance Joseph, Ben Johnson, Kellen Moore
This is when I knew to never respond to this account again. You're not even a good troll. (only responding to let other ppl know)

You pulled all the names from NFL HC suggestions about a year ago. When I saw this list of names I knew immediately you just pulled that list from online somewhere.
*similar to this list, every name you said is on it LOL* Ranking the top 10 NFL coaching candidates: How Ben Johnson and other buzzy names stack up

It is always the lowest IQ who have no talent and get no attention at home that make new accounts just to be noticed. The need for online validation or replies and attention is truly sad. smh.

When I read threads like this I instantly think this is a fan of a rival team trying to stir the pot.

No one should want to seriously consider moving on from CJH or CTB right now.

It is very clear that even with teams not that good, when a big game comes around that the VOLS need to win, Heupel alters his persona and strategies to play it safe, not have discipline on the team (thus silly mistakes) and here we will be once again: a bunch of meaningless wins and NO championships. He has done a great job of getting the team out of the dungeon, but seems to lack that "special it" that makes for championship coaches. Time to give him a nice bonus, thank him for his service and send him on his way.

yeah. We all expected 3 or 4 championships in January 2021 after losing seasons in 3 of 4 years & NCAA hot after our ass.

I’m not there yet. However if he can’t put up a win against UGA next season or their next game they play at Neyland, it will be time for a change. We had a talent parity with UGA on the field and he still did not get it done this season. I’m pulling for him but if he can’t get it done find somebody who can.
Does 54% = 84%? I struggle with math, so just checking.

You obviously didn’t learn anything from Whineman getting raked over the coals.
LOL, I have lived a pretty good life and a big part of that is not giving a rats axx what someone thinks or says about me. Rake away people, it's like water on a duck's back.

I am very pleased where we are compared to where we were when he arrived here. We have a very good team which will be better every year is here He has 53 Freshman/redshirt Freshmen on team and they were a missed field goal away from beating Georgia for the first time in 8 years. We have a top 6-8 recruiting class signing in December which will add talent and depth to our team. Happy days are here again, regardless of how much you whine.

Dude has won big games he just can’t beat Kirby. Also he needs to quit laying an egg every season to some team he should beat.
Right...He and basically nobody else beats UGA, so ok to be upset cause we could have won, but it is the first time we played well enough to win. Even in 2022, we got our asses handed to us. We are also a blue-blue program that other teams always get up for. If we had a mediocre reputation we wouldn't always lose to someone we shouldn't. I think MIssouri wins because everybody just thinks they are "just Missouri" and even though they have beaten us and had some great years, nobody respects them.

Well, you do understand that opponents like UGA are harder to game plan than UAB, right?

In five years, he has taken a team completely in the dumpster and now has taken the most talented team in the country to the mat... and if not for an errant kick would have been the winner. He still doesn't have as much talented depth as UGA. Some key players were missing that make this year's team A LOT better. Not excuses. Facts. He has improved roster talent every year in spite of dealing with recruiting restrictions left by the last guy.

Before he arrived, Bama wasn't just beating UT... they were stomping the Vols. Before he arrived even bad UF teams beat UT.

The short answer is that he's progressed every year. When you get to the top of that process, the improvements are smaller and a lot harder to come by. The process of purifying steel makes a decent comparison. It is easy to get most of the impurities out. But the closer you get to "pure"... the more difficult it is to get impurities out.

The amount of stupidity it would take to "send him on his way" at this point is unfathomable. Have you really forgotten what the program was and its direction prior to Heupel?

Who are you talking about with the latter part? He actually does that less by my measure than any coach UT has had in my 61 years.

A lot of coaches can't beat Kirby right now. Many can't come close. Fewer still can say "we should have won that game". We've come from not being competitive to a team UGA had to "manage" to a win to a team that can rightly say "we let that one get away."

Considering the degree to which Heupel continues to close that talent gap... I think we're going to start seeing some wins.

And no, Kirby isn't outcoaching Heupel. Both guys are playing their hands. Kirby's hands have just been better every year lately.

Like beating Bama 2 of last 3? or scoring 41 against a great UGA defense? Did he play it safe in those games? Don't be one of those people who ignore the facts to support their pre-conceived opinions.

Folks, the troll who started this thread is gone. He pulled pitch. Unassed the AO. Popped smoke. Made like horse poop and hit the trail. His account no longer exists. He was shocked at how easily we saw through his schtick, and decided to take his toys and go home. Probably back to Vandy land, given the timing of when he joined the community.

It's okay to stop debating the asinine question he asked to crank this one up.

Go Vols!
