How Many of Our Guys could start or play significant minutes for other top tier SEC Teams?

Hope you're right on that.

I want him to succeed at LB, but part of me thinks he might end up back at RB before all is said and done. Though, a Crouch and Eric Gray backfield would be pretty spectacular.

I think he's played pretty good his 1st year and a half. I'm most disappointed in our safety play this season, really thought we'd be better than what we are there.

For the future,I think Whitehead will fill the bruising back role. When the d-line starts to keep the lbs a little cleaner I think you’ll see a big difference

Change the QB dynamic and you change the entire way this team is viewed.

WR talent is there but QB limitations effect play calling
RB is thin but talented with very solid talent being young. QB limitations force situations were RBs are under preforming.
OL injuries and inconsistent play have limited success, when they have played well QB limitations have adversely affected them (ie holding the ball to long, zero pocket presence)
TE is not as utilized in this system

DL is too thin to honestly evaluate at this point. 3 were brought in last year 2 are committed this year. Honestly JUCO or Transfer DTs (2-3) need to be a priority
LB is talented but too young to play to potential. To’too’to likely needs to add back 5-7 pounds if he is going to play like he does
CBs have injury issues and youth issues. The best is in front of them
S/Star needs depth and experience in the worst way.

QB is the elephant in the room.
Maurer plays reckless and is likely going to transfer
Shrout is not the answer but can help in the QB room
Bailey has looked decent but not ready
Holiday likely moves back to QB for depth
Saltier needs a year in the weight and lunch rooms.

Gitmo has done the best he can and should be remembered for that. He has the tools but not the processor to play at this or the next level. I’m sure he is a great human being and I can see where of the options he really did provide the best option to win now but it’s just not working out.


This roster can and will win games. Pruitt can and will be a very solid head coach. It’s just a perfect storm of limited practice, limitations at QB, Covid protocols, and a loss of confidence inside the program.

Gitmo should take his degree(s) and go be successful in life. Chaney is likely getting moved along from the staff with ether Martin or Long stepping into that role. Friend gets retained, I would look at replacing Weinke with a Casey Clausen type hire. The rest I would leave in place.

The more time they spend under the tutelage of Pruitt the more they regress. They would look better if the skipped practice for a week and just played some flag football.

based on what exactly? Young players that didn’t get the benefit of fall or spring ball being put in games are going to screw up. Last week they got better as a team thanks to time off. This weeks extra time will help those able to practice get better. This roster has the ability to be very good but it needs time and reps to get there.

Broken record, what specific techniques would you focus on? All these men have been top notch coaches everywhere they been and now they’re completely incompetent. Give me a break.

I actually think UT's talent is "next tier" after the first 4 or maybe 5. QB play changes everything. There are some holes on D that shouldn't be there if your HC is a defensive "guru".

All starts with the HC. If you don't have a good one, the rest of the staff can and will suffer. No I don't think Chaney, Ansley and such have suddenly forgot how to coach. But something isn't right clearly. Give me a break. A lot of individual good coaches won't always mesh as a good coaching staff. And it all starts up top.

So Pruitt all of a sudden is an idiot after being successful everywhere else? And all these keyboard quarterbacks are more competent than a man who makes a great living knowing the game. Ima gonna go with the dude getting paid over the jeniuses paying to get into the game.

Pruitt has never coached anywhere that he didn’t have superior talent than his competitors. He’s never had to “coach” a win.

247 ranks our roster talent as #7 in the SEC but it’s Bama and Georgia by themselves at the top, LSU a step down then little separation for the next four teams...our QB play makes us look worse. On D my biggest concern is we don’t have the type DL players to really run the D Pruitt wants to run...we rarely get pressure when teams pass and the good teams get blockers on our linebackers when they run...We need a NT like the kid at Georgia and could use some tackles like Henderson and Haynesworth....sure would make pass coverage easier...
