How many games before we give another QB a chance?

He is the main one holding this team back. He cannot get through his progressions quick enough. We had people running open for days. He had plenty of time. Defense plays off of emotion. Watching your reciever buddies run wide open and ur qb throw 100 mph heaters for picks tends to dampen ur enthusiasm

I have said the same thing. Absolutely no emotion, which is a direct reflection of your qb. I have no idea why a back up qb was not put in when the game was already decided.

Ga Freaking St put up 38 points on this team and you want to blame just the QB?

Not just the qb, defense was really bad too, but I really feel a more emotional qb would even help the defense. No real emotion at all, they need to get fired up and ready to play

You think a new QB is going to help that Offensive Line? LOL C'mon man. They literally just got owned by a team that won 2 games last year. A new QB does nothing for this team.
He could learn to take a knee and punt after three times

QB is supposed to be a leader. JG is not one. Great QB's find ways to make things happen to keep the defense off the field as much as possible. This did not happen in this game, nor during many of the games last year. JG is too unpredictable. Some say JG didn't have anything to do with the 38 points GT put up against us, but if he were leading the team on offense to points, it would have put more pressure on GT's offense. A lot of teams tend to do bad things when they are under pressure to score. Momentum is the key and we never got any.

The bigger question is how many more games before we give another coach a chance.

BENCH Guarantano now!!!!! If he suits up again and trots out on that field one more MF time I’m going to lose my mind!!!!

It is the decisions. GSU's QB is nowhere near as talented as JG physically. But when his team needed a play he made it. He made good decisions and took care of the ball. And it was pretty obvious the guys around him believed in him. I'm not sure that's ever been the case with JG.

Defense sucked but played gassed. Again. Because our QB/Offense couldn’t sustain drives.

He had plenty of time to throw today

i agree the number is 2.8 seconds and then the QB is on his own just the way it is. Every OL gives up sacks even Bama and Clemson. If you give the QB 2.8 he should be good to go.
I seen one tonight where he had less than that,on the corner blitz and JG fumble.

Just got home....we obviously as a university have no interest in feilding a quality football team. We were just beat by Georgia State as most of you know. It's time to clean it from the top down. In all honesty they all have to go and I know that we will lose some good people...but bye. The reputation of the first university founded west of the Mississippi is at stake. You've "managed" it into the ground. I no longer offer up where my degrees are from. It's a ************************************************** shame.

It's football. The QB is the face of the team and gets the credit for the win, get's the blame for the loss just the way it is
The defense stunk it up something awful thats why your offense needs to control the clock and put up points to keep your week D off the field.
I thought the offense showed glimpse of promise at times but that was short lived.
JG still isn't looking off his receivers and the O line gave him time to operate. He did for the most part pull the ball down and took off unlike last year

You could bring in Tom Brady or bring back a young Peyton. They wouldn't make a difference. The problem isn't the quarterback.

When you have and OL and DL getting whupped every single down you have much much deeper issues.
OL didn't get whupped every play today...they played pretty good for the most part. No O line is gonna hold up forever and I disagree about not winning with Brady or Peyton because the D is gonna have to respect their arm and when your QB can move the ball while burning clock and putting points on the board. That keeps your weak D off the field and it also keeps your opponent offense off the field

I can't say it's all JG fault we did put up 30 pts but the offense should've put up more as it was there but the D was terrible and the play calling was horrible too I don't know why they could adjust to that qb option and that sweep they kept running. Ga St QB is a runner first

Hiring Helton screwed us out of getting Martinez. Obviously AM wouldn’t be the answer to all our problems but it sure would be nice to see a QB recognize a blitz from time to time or run through his check downs faster than tectonic plate movements.

7 of those points were in trash time when the game was already lost, and 9 were off of field goals.

We should not have been kicking FGs against Georgia State. We score TDs on those drives, and even though the defense is stinking it up, we still win.

Our offense actually put up 30 points it wasn’t on them even though they have room for improvement on some things, We would’ve scored more if we wouldn’t have turned the ball over. That needs to be fixed and it will. I’m gonna give it until at least next week before I get too mad. The Defense was a huge problem. There is no way we should ever allow more then 10 points against a Ga State team. There offense outplayed our defense. Our coaches got out coached on that side of the ball unfortunately. I’m still optimistic we can get it together. Don’t flip out too much rn.
Very misleading post regarding point total. We scored 6 points in the second half until a meaningless touchdown in the last minute against a prevent defense. Play calling and qb decision making was poor the entire second half imo.

Zom this board isn’t the brightest. It’s like half the board consists of a bunch of guy’s wives who pick teams based on who has the prettiest uniform. That’s the level of football IQ we’re dealing with around here

This defense had no clue how to confront an option offense. This is on the coaches. I liked some of the irregular formations the defense showed, but there was zero execution because nobody knew what to do on mis-direction plays, tackled poorly, and the defensive line simply isn't good. GS had a good QB and that QB beat us today. I would have thought our coaches would have seen some of the video on this guy, but they obviously prepared for something completely different and could not adjust to the options or mis-direction plays. We could have used Bituli today in a big way. We couldn't depend on the offense to make up for our confusion on the defense because JG played poorly, the play calling was atrocious, and maybe it is only me, but Palmer and Callaway are highly over-rated. Palmer seems to drop a lot of balls and Callaway never gains separation. Yes, he can catch, but every opposing DB seems to be his shadow. We have a very young and inexperienced OL. They made some mistakes. But the biggest mistakes come from our QB. Mentally, he simply cannot read a defense and has no legs. He can't get out of his own way when there is pressure. I am not all gloom and doom. We need a good QB and our players need some experience. And goodness, our coaches need to realize we are not Georgia or Alabama and quit playing safe instead of just taking some risks. I would rather lose trying to score and getting some big plays rather than chunk and dunk and run vanilla plays to keep everything simple.

Oh I know. I'm just saying we did score 30 and we should've scored more because it was there to take. The D didn't help us at all. I said in this thread or some other one that if the offense had controlled the clock and scored our D wouldn't been out there long enough to matter.

I wasted my time watching this game. Changes have got to be made. You don't lose to Ga St the way we did and nothing changes.
I think we should've gone for that 4th down when we had momentum instead of punting. We needed to send a message that we aren't playing around this season but instead we are the joke of the SEC.
