In before I'm called a sunshine pumper Butch fan. Frankly I am. And I don't appreciate the way Tennessee fans have handled and treated his coaching tenure. Can't abide losing to Florida or to South Carolina and Vandy for that matter, so you are right this is the time to be heard. Just wish a lot of you would shut your mouth on social media or write the University. That's all.

This ain't the 1980's so we won't shut our mouths.
Butch is a MILLIONAIRE which some of has come from this fan base's money. He was hired to win us the SEC Championship and what accolades come with doing so....keeping us ranked in the top 10 in the hunt. Year 5 this team looks like they are in year 2...and that's with players that have been here 3-4 years.

And if you do not think Butch is worried about Butch more than anything else....I can give you 4,100,000 reasons per year that is at risk from being taken away from him and his family...knowing no one else is going to pay him that much ever again....come on man.

It's the nature of this beast of a program and passionate fan base. Winning cures in sports. If CBJ can't handle big time...or fans for that matter....then downgrade to a program that doesn't have much pub imo

I just hope everyone shows some class, and doesn't act like an idoit. We are Tennessee fans, not Alabama fans.

Fans have a right to boo or voice their opinions....without cursing someone or attacking someone personally. If the game gets bad then fans have a right to leave. They quit fans will quit. Win

Good points... but I simply wanted Butch to get to the SEC Championship game for starters, which further adds to your point regrettably..his salary is big time and if he can't win big time then he shouldn't be here agreed, but a lot of the criticism is borderline hate. No one is more critical of the offensive play calling on the goal line last week than me but bad publicity has been a cornerstone here for the last decade or so and I'm just sitting here thinking when does it end? It doesn't help. IMO Butch is/was a Cam Newton away (think Dobbs but better decision making) from winning the east and finally making his mark, coaching be ******. I guess that will never happen now. Still can't believe USC game last year was real.

But bad pub is not good pub. Butch even knows that hence Shy falling on a helmet. Lying to the media isn't awesome and Butch doesn't always handle things (or play calls) the way he should but he protects his guys and does all he can which is why I argue for him in the first place. You are right though.

None.

Jones makes for good television with his embarrassing quotes. Gives the talking heads something to ridicule.

I feel you guy....just so you know I have been a Butch sunshine pumper for every year until the Florida game. I was making excuses for the defense in the GT and Indy St. games...but as a business man and someone that hires and fires employees on productivity driven sales I feel he has had enough chances...rather passes and year 5 should be the year where you see players "Coached Up" because you have lost key starters..

Then you add to the fact that last season with his BEST team they could not get the offense going for a majority of the season until the 2nd halves of games which has now carried over in to this season is very disheartening...but with this schedule and without Dobbs making plays with his legs to overcome the offense's deficiencies...we really run the chance of being blown out early tomorrow, Bama, LSU, and Kentucky....and in dog fights with Mizzu and Vandy.

With all the top recruiting classes compared to the teams he has lost to and is going to struggle against...good coaching has us not discussing this but here we are.

It's like he built a Ferrarri but has put a Chevy AVEO engine in it to sell us....so are we really getting our money's worth? I'm just saying :dunno:

Where was his protection when Ethan Wolf was trashed by the media a couple weeks ago? Seems like Butch only stands up for his players when it benefits him.

He lost my respect as a man when he told the fans to eff off from the sideline that they are paying him to stand on. Everyone loses their cool, but that was something I've never seen another UT football coach do. I don't want him to be shamed out of here either but I also don't want Currie and the money men to mistake a display of manners for acquiescence to the status quo. If people want a change, this is the time to be heard.

I hadn't heard about the sideline deal until now. When did this happen and what brought it about?

Last season....don't remember what game at the moment. The Head Coach went all angsty, and red-faced when he was getting booed. Camera caught him saying "Eff em all!" in a very animated, unhinged outburst.

His disciples have attributed it to everything other than what it was.

Yeah.. the last two parts just about sum it up. I have to believe we come out and compete tomorrow ya know but proof's in the pudding. Definitely can't argue with this, just wanted to see Butch succeed.
