One of the talk shows earlier this week played an old radio interview that Manning did where he was asked about Dooley his last year as the coach. They compared how similar his answers were about Dooley to the resent one about Butch.

Also I saw a fire Butch sign last week in the crowd during college game day.

And how will that make us better? Regardless what side of the debate you are on with the coach, statements like this show just how pathetic our fans can beat. We don't need great players as long as we can be allowed to be miserable.

Ohhhhhhh you certainly are a "Holier Than Thou" piece of hot stank garbage. I knew...as well as all of you...there would be booing at the UMass game. You told me I was a JERK and to OWN IT...when I was trying to talk about how fast the fan base turned on Butch if we started out terrible last week.

As I predicted boos started early....and as I figured the hypocrisy of those on here like you knows no bounds.

I didn't participate in the poll because "none" wasn't an option... When and if Butch leaves this year, he should still be shown respect and appreciation for the recruits he has brought in. I've enjoyed the culture just not the results... It has been far from all sunshine and rainbows but our fans need to get a grip and deal with it. Respect the man. Call him incompetent if you want but please don't embarrass us on national television.

He lost my respect as a man when he told the fans to eff off from the sideline that they are paying him to stand on. Everyone loses their cool, but that was something I've never seen another UT football coach do. I don't want him to be shamed out of here either but I also don't want Currie and the money men to mistake a display of manners for acquiescence to the status quo. If people want a change, this is the time to be heard.

Fair enough and well said. He cares a lot about his guys and I believe for the community and Tennessee in general too. We've done a lot for him though and he's put us back into talks of contention. He just couldn't quite contend with games on the line. Everyone makes mistakes. I think it was just from passion and being under duress and scrutiny in that moment that got the best of him. I can forgive him for that. Sorry that you can't. The fact is he's dealt with critics since Day 1 and over that period of time has greatly improved our ability to compete. Say what you will about his overall track record or the way he speaks to the media but the guy has given his all for Tennessee and more.

In before I'm called a sunshine pumper Butch fan. Frankly I am. And I don't appreciate the way Tennessee fans have handled and treated his coaching tenure. Can't abide losing to Florida or to South Carolina and Vandy for that matter, so you are right this is the time to be heard. Just wish a lot of you would shut your mouth on social media or write the University. That's all.

I just hope everyone shows some class, and doesn't act like an idoit. We are Tennessee fans, not Alabama fans.
