How Many EMPTY SEATS Were There vs Arky?

Half the people did NOT leave at half. That is a plain moronic statement. Sure some people leave, but nowhere near half. Not even a quarter.
Moronic statement??? I saw these people leave buddy. You can call it what you like but it is the truth.

Not even a quarter is a moronic statement.

I was at the game. Nowhere near a half of the people left at half. If there were 51,000 people in that arena it would look completely empty.

It was about midway through the third, but a large number did leave very early. with 8 minutes to go in the fourth it might as well have been empty

:lolabove: That was funny...I wondered how many people picked up on that.

me and the friend I was with picked up on it as soon as it hit and just started laughing. I guarantee someone got in trouble for playing it.

Did anyone that was at the Vol Walk hear any boos?

I didn't hear any boos during the Vol Walk. The absolute best part of the Vol Walk was Trooper Taylor, who was about 1/3 of the way from the end of the players and coaches coming through-- the crowd was down to just golf-clapping, then Trooper yells "How 'bout it Vol fans" and the place goes nuts! Also, a little boy about 8 jumps in front of him for a surprise chest-bump.

As for attendance, it was strong, and I didn't see a lot of people leaving until about a minute into the fourth, after the last TD.

And I was sending text messages (scoring updates) during the game-- so get off my back!:)

Hey, if people have tickets and don't wanna go to the game, then feel free to throw them my way.

I love going to Neyland and I would go even if UT lost every game this year.

There is no way half the stadium left at half time. I was there, too. Some always leave, but it is usually around 1/10th, or so. The place was about a third full by the end of the game, though.

I believe it was when he said he had to make a lot of tough decisions as a coach like when to go for it, when to run the ball and when to blitz. I heard a lot of laughter for that one.

Attendance figures are based on TICKETS SOLD!!! (in addition to ushers, etc.). That's quite evident when you hear our BB attendance figures against the likes of Elon.

You don't think they pay bean counters $20/hr to count all of those stubs do you???

The real attendance was probably around 98-99k. There were a number of empty rows at the tops of the upper deck and in the upper deck student section.

Most of the rest of the stadium was quite full.

I can see about 98 to 99k. The bottom line is that it wasn't nearly as bad as one would think. The stadium was pretty full of life. I have seen vandy and kentucky games on a cold day in a good season with less.

I personally, cannot stand that. You pay to go to a football game to text message people. brilliant.

?

I was texting my friends/gf/sister the score on the game since they didn't have tickets to the game.

And I was conversing with my GF (who is an arky fan) about the scores they were telling us, mostly razzing her about UK winning.

But that doesn't mean I wasn't watching the game. I was probably watching the game more closely than anyone else in my section.

Sorry if I don't live up to your standards for observing a football game.

It was clearly less than half that were leaving. I agree with Dickens. Probably less than a quarter of the people there left. If you think half of the freakin stadium left, then you need to learn to count again.

By the 4th quarter, sure, maybe about 50 k were left, but at half we still had at LEAST 85 k

Ahh yes, the slide from mediocrity into nothingness and the basement of the SEC. NICE!

Glad you're here to judge people. I was sitting on a boat in the ocean and my mom was texting me the scores since there was no way for me to see it. There are legit reasons for it but don't let that get in your way

I really don't see how texting someone affects anyone around them. Now, if you're yammering on the phone, yelling play-by-play at someone, for more than 2 minutes then that's a nuisance. But texting? Text away, Vol fans. Text away.:rock:
