I know we had some. I hope Dillion Bates gets another year because of his injury, But how many other did the coaches redshirt. Just think next year is going to be good. With what we have coming back. Plus Tuttle and McKenzie on the D-line. Not to get ahead of myself because I think we win out this year. We get a buy this week and Kentucky is playing Georgia. Then I believe we beat Missouri for senior day. Then you know Vandy has got one coming. Anchor down my azz the whole ship will go down when big orange hits the field in Nashville. :rock:

For sure Bates, C. Mosley and Josh Smith have redshirted.
Not sure if Sawyers or Raulerson have played this year.

I know Johnson has played and I'm pretty sure I saw Gaulden on special teams last game. Not sure about the others.

Bates, Henderson, Bryant, Mosley, Ray, and Creamer. Josh smith gets medical. Everyone else to my knowledge has played.

Gaulden, Sawyers, Johnson and Payne have played a lot for sure. Think Henderson and Raulerson are certain for redshirts along with Mosley. Not sure about Bryant, El Berry and Creamer.

someone on here said they thought Blair was targeted for a redshirt. I don't think he's traveled to the last away games.

anyone know for sure?

Have they actually approved Josh Smith's medical redshirt? I don't know how it works but he played in 3 games.

Bates is getting one and he played in four games. I think it is 1/3 a season or less.

What about LB Bynum? Has he played this year? Also not sure about Elliot Berry. Sometimes these guys play a lot on special teams.

I heard if you play less than 30% of the games. Bowl or not may be the deciding factor. Too lazy to do the math.

Henderson is currently not with the team... not sure if that is permanent or what, but either way, he was redshirting.

Blair is a redshirt because they want/need to get him conditioned where he needs to be to play OL for Butch. Mosely is medical RS along with Bates and Josh Smith.

As for the rest of the freshman class, there aren't many redshirts. Sawyers, Raulerson, Bryant, Creamer... I think that's it. I've seen the rest of the freshmen playing at some point at least on special teams.

Next year will be interesting to me in the RS department. With Dobbs at QB and Peterman as the backup, I wouldn't be surprised if Dormady and Jennings both RS. With the range of RB's we will have in Hurd, Kamara and Scott, I could see Rocky Reid getting a RS. I highly doubt it will happen, but depending on the extent of Preston Williams' injury, he may not be 100% by next year, warranting a medical RS. And even if he is 100%, it's not like we don't have a plethora of quality receivers already.

Some guys I am willing to bet the farm will NOT be redshirted: Kahlil McKenzie...the guy very well could take Danny O'Brien's starting job next season. Shy Tuttle...same thing.

It has been stated that we have played 23 true freshmen, the most of any team in the nation, but technically nobody has redshirted thus far. Presumably Josh Smith and Dillon Bates will eventually receive medical redshirts but that is not a guarantee at this point. Just as Josh Dobbs' potential redshirt was burned due to injury, it is still conceivable that some of the remaining freshmen who have not played to date could be forced into action by a late rash of injuries. Hopefully, that will not be the case but you never know until the season has played out in its entirety.

Does anyone know who all is being redshirted this year? I know Dontavius Blair and I think Ray Raulerson are but I'm not sure who else is. Also is Dillon Bates and Josh Smith eligible for a medical redshirt?

Smith and Bates are applying for MR. No reason they shouldn't receive.

Still under redshirt at this time.

Gaulden and Sawyers have played. NOT REDSHIRTING.

Losing Bates hurts this team more than you realize. This is the time they need depth. They really need to play these young guys more to keep our starters fresh.

Looking at the roster, bios and stats and based on the premise that you are a red shirt if you practice with team but played in no games. These are the guys listed on the roster as freshmen that have not played at all to this point.

Colton Jumper got the 2-deep for Utah State but I hadn't heard of anything since then.

Geez our Starting MLB next year is either a RS Freshman (Bryant) or True Freshman (Cherry)?
