How Mad Will You Be If We Look Like A Completely Different Team?

To answer your question OP...I will be happy.

I want them to look and be MUCH better than they have been. I can barely take it anymore....

Here's to hoping!

Very likely a long stretch but...

How mad will you be if we come out looking like a completely different team and we find out Hurd was a cause of a lot of the problems and moral?

Be nice to run I formation all day!

Agree. I hope we can get it together. We have looked like a poorly coached team. Losing to uscjr makes you realize how much this team has regressed. We haven't looked physical enough to compete at a high level. Kelly needs 25+ touches every week, why he didn't get more touches last week is something I will never understand. He averaged over 9yds a carry vs uscjr. They could not stop him.

If Hurd was always a problem, and Kelly is so good, then why did Hurd get the majority of carries?
No matter how you cut it, Butch comes up short. Bad roster managemwnt. Bad preparation, motivation and discipline. If we get sick of Butch's cliches, imagine hearing it every day.

OP you are looking to pin a season's worth of poor execution, unpreparedness, and bad play calling on Hurd, and it's just not possible that his discontent is responsible for all of the garbage we have seen on the field this year.

We should be able to have 3rd stringers in the game on both sides and still beat TN Tech by 21+, but if history tells us anything we will come out and struggle for at least the first half and end up winning by 10 points in a nail-biter. It doesn't matter who the opponent is, it's what we've done all year.

Hopefully Butch didn't lose players catering to Hurds needs. Guees we'll see. Changes coming...

Oh it's possible, that Jalengate had a lot to do with more than you think.

Doesn't matter how it's spun, if we show up and knock thier teeth out today, Imma be a happy Martha Focker.

I won't be surprised to see a different team today. I hope they can turn it around and win out. Hurd is gone so let's act like he was never there. That will hurt him more than to keep talking about him.

This game will not change my opinion BUT if the team plays well for all 4 quarters for all remaining games AND they change their offensive play calling by incorporating some I, some slants and some field stretching longer throws THEN I will have a more optimistic attitude going forward. In other words, if they start playing offensive football like they did in last year's Northwestern bowl game; I'll be a happier fan.

That caused me to go back at the box score again to make sure I hadn't missed something. 8 rushes for 16 yards. I would say that virtually any running back at any college in the nation could have suited up and done that in his place.
Hard to be humble when you are number 1!

He said a lot, not all.

This forum is full of grown adults. Look at the arguments, controversies and emotions ignited over only opinions.

The locker room is full of 18-20 kids. Crap could get started, I said started, by something as simple as a girl, video game or a "your mom" joke. Add in all the rumors, and things could get out of hand. Like they seem to be.

If Butch is the coach you think he is, how can you say that "this is just not possible"?

I'm not hating here, I just disagree and telling you why before you ask.

Kelly is an exciting player but I swear he won't live up to the fan's expectations of him. He may finish this year strong because the remaining competition is weak but next year he will be crucified for his level of play and ego. Kids hungry right now and he should have been fed all along but now he's in the role of the vols savior. Too much hype.
He's a naturally good runner, athletic but you are right. SEC defenses will put him to a stearn test and you know how unfortunate UT is with injuries. Will AK return for a senior season? If not I would consider us both thin and inexperienced at RB. Talk about time for player development. Cam Akers would be a huge land at this point. Most Hurd bashers who are posting don't have the complete story nor are they taking certain things into consideration and two are the coach and the system he's attempting to run. Oh we are free, as fans, to bash CBJ and this pitiful offense but when a player does it....he's a spoiled brat. Take any back we have and attempt to pound him between the tackles repeatedly and he's naturally going to slow down behind this line if not suffer bad injury. This is pure and simple bad offensive scheme. Put into the mix that all defenses are keying on that and successful in stopping it. Hurd knew it and CBJ and yes man Debord kept doing it. Think about it.....Hurd told him what most of us would like to tell him....." hey coach your 5 lineman are having trouble blocking the other teams front 7." GBO!!!!!

What a dopey OP. We're playing Tennessee Tech--hardly a barometer of whether we're a "different team" or not. And we're not going to be a different team has Hurd had limited action in recent games. We'll be the same team playing less competitive opponents. Good grief....

That scenario could only be tested if we make it to Atlanta and put up a lot better showing vs Bama. Only then could you think about maybe connecting the dots back to Hurd. All the rest of the games left on regular schedule this year are completely meaningless unless UF loses twice.

I haven't been able to watch the games since tamu. I'm looking forward to Mr Kelly.

You know I'll be honest.. I watched more of the SC game and Hurd kept grinding those yards.
Kamara was out.
Even announcers said that he looked banged up.
Was it possible that he asked the coaches for a break and they said no?? I'd be pissed too.

To answer your question OP, I think we might see a spark but the play callings will be same.

Butch is a "system" coach

Anybody that defends Hurd, I stop paying attention.
