Very likely a long stretch but...

How mad will you be if we come out looking like a completely different team and we find out Hurd was a cause of a lot of the problems and moral?

Not mad, but disappointed. To me, it's now obvious there was some toxicity in our locker room, and I'm hoping after the players had their meeting and called each other out we'll play for each other with pride.

Quite honestly if it doesn't look like a different team I will be disappointed. It is time to play like a team that was picked for the SECC game by most.

GO BIG ORANGE!

You know I'll be honest.. I watched more of the SC game and Hurd kept grinding those yards.
Kamara was out.
Even announcers said that he looked banged up.
Was it possible that he asked the coaches for a break and they said no?? I'd be pissed too.

To answer your question OP, I think we might see a spark but the play callings will be same.

Butch is a "system" coach

That caused me to go back at the box score again to make sure I hadn't missed something. 8 rushes for 16 yards. I would say that virtually any running back at any college in the nation could have suited up and done that in his place.

I fully expect to see a different team. I expect John Kelly to make a statement today and that will be "I should have been one of the featured rb's all along". His attacks will lift the spirits of the whole team, and I expect a high level of performance on both sides of the ball. There will be celebrations on the sidelines, chest bumps and glad handing! Team 120.2.0!
Go Vols!

If it results in team 120 actually playing 4 quarters and living up to expectations, I wont be mad at all.

Apparently you watched a different broadcast than I did. He gave very little effort.

I can't imagine I would ever be mad about my team looking great and winning decisively.

Absolutely. And it shouldn't even have to be said.

I'm not sure what the OP is asking though.

Will I be mad because I want them to continue to suck so the hot seat continues to grow under Butch? Or, mad that they could have been doing this all along.

I won't be mad if we drop the ball, or are off-sides, on the opening KO; or if Dobbs is sacked 3-4 times; or if we have an enormous amount of penalties + loss of yrds; or if this qb exposes our 2nd-ary and picks up some big runs himself (b/c we all know certain style qb's just can't run in/vs this league). I also won't be upset if these things don't occur. We should win, but how fluid will the team look / I just can't say.

I predict more slop. Dont see how to blame the rash of penalties and turnovers on Hurd.

Agree. I hope we can get it together. We have looked like a poorly coached team. Losing to uscjr makes you realize how much this team has regressed. We haven't looked physical enough to compete at a high level. Kelly needs 25+ touches every week, why he didn't get more touches last week is something I will never understand. He averaged over 9yds a carry vs uscjr. They could not stop him.

He had 3 straight carries from the 3 or 4 yard line and barely got in on 3rd and goal. After he scored he didn't get excited didn't talk to teammates just went to the sideline and didn't touch the ball again in the game. During the game I told my wife that Dobbs looks like he did two years ago throwing the ball and looked mentally distraught. After Butch gave Kelly the break after a long run of 35-40 yards - Fils-Aime came in and to me he didn't look like he expected to be called on - then first play the botched handoff/fumble. Dobbs immediately went to the sideline and went up to Hurd who was standing by himself with helmet off and said something Hurd, Hurd just shrugged shoulders and Dobbs turned and left.

Hindsight is 20/20 but just looking back at who the team selected as captains. 4 players selected...Senior All-SEC LB, Senior PR/KR All-American/All-SEC Cam Sutton, Senior QB pre-season all-sec Josh Dobbs, and Alvin Kamara the RS Junior who was Hurds 'back-up'.
