I'd divert to 'bama and set him out on the way back to Knoxville.

I don’t know how long he will be here but I do know he will be judged with retention/firing after year 3.

Only way he gets canned before that is if he gets caught hitting a kid.

If we say end up 2-10 this year and halfway through next year we look to be not bowl bound, he'll be gone. Fulmer will have little choice.

Fired the Sunday after Dooley hangs 60 on us. Interim will coach at Vandy and another coaching search fiasco will start.

Well instantly fall in love with the highly unqualified hire and talk about how he "gets it" and we'll be stunned by his amazing presser. I'm guessing it'll be the OC from Austin Peay

This is probably the most reasonable response I have seen on the issue. I'm in agreement with you for sure. Don't think he will be gone before that.

It will still be a hell of a buyout at that point. Something like 3.7 million times 2 to 2 1/2 years...

I hope he gets time. I like the players he is bringing in and how they play.

Probably another year, but this team isn't coached well. We needed a experienced head coach for this job. Fulmer said he was here to fix football, he didn't and we're stuck with this guy. It's going nowhere fast..

Except that's not what you said. You said after Year 3, I said he wouldn't make it to the end of year 3.

I didn’t say he would make it to the end of year. Simply said Year 3 is when he will be judged on keeping his job.

Whether it’s mid season or after the season, that’s when he should be judged on his job when he has the overwhelming majority of his roster being his kids

Depends on what he does right now. The O suffers from confidence issues that start with JG. If he doesn't find a solution... UT probably won't win another game.

He may have sealed his fate when he decided over the off season to make JG the starter. If he had been developing Maurer or Shrout... they might have been playing well by now.

I don't know how you English, but saying "after year 3" means at the end of the season.

You are talking about a 2nd year headcoach, it would take a massive step up from someone with money before a change were to happen. Way too much money wrapped up in this staff to send them packing.
