Yeah lets start worrying about that! FAIL THREAD !

:furious3:

Don't like the thread, don't post in it. If the OP wanted to know if this was a "fail thread," he would have asked that question.... Seriously though, why so angry? This is a VOL forum, we're all Vol fans, no need to be hasty :eek:k:

Because my concentration and time will help the vols win?
Oh yes........Don't underestimate the power of the internet, it has mythical powers i tell you. Now go light some candles and find those Alabama voodoo dolls and start sticking pins in them.

That he put Knox in his kids name? I mean I seriously doubt he did that for the wow effect of the fan base, at least if he didn't plan on being here for a while..

Though I have been wrong before, I think he's here for a long haul...same with some of the assistants. There is an opportunity for this staff to do something NONE of them could accomplish anywhere else, and without each other. (at least not anytime soon as should be apparent in recruiting/practice ethic/ etc..) Build a dynasty.

Just a lurkers opinion :tease2:

How ever long Pete Carroll wants to coach

Agreed! I want CLK to stay in Knoxville till he retires but I think when Pete steps down at USC they will want CLK. That said, hopefully that means we will have CLK for many years to come cause Pete Carroll isnt going anywhere in the near future. Said he will never go back to the NFL and he loves the USC school and football program, its the only place he wants to be. Also, why name your kid after the city you coach in(Knox) if you dont plan on staying for a long time!!

if Kiffin ends up taking over for Pete in a few years then he will leave UT football in very good shape

I think for any of this to happen he'll first have to make a contender out of the Vols and sustain it over a period of time. I don't think he's looking to retire here, but when and if he leaves it will be in better shape than he found it.

Carter as in Carter High School in K-town? What year?

My question would be what if both Kiffin and Sarkisian have their respective programs turned around and going strong when/if Carroll steps down? Who would they want then?

IF CLK manages to bring 2 SEC Championships and/or 1 National title to Knoxville in his first 4-5 years then I can see him jumping ship. I don't see that being likely though. Not to mention the fact that both he and CEO have such a college mentality. They live for the recruiting trail and coaching up young talent to be the best they can be. You don't get to do that in the NFL.

Why does it matter?? We have to take it season by season, so I don't see why we are worried how long he will coach us.

If all goes very good then I see about 8 years. Long enough to establish himself and our program as elite. At that time he hopefully will have a few SEC championships under his belt and maybe 1 BCS championship. At that point I feel he will move on to the NFL again, he will be older and will want to try one more time to be a succesful NFL coach.

Just my 2 cents.

Thank you. Some people on here are so funny, they never post threads and yet they wanna critique everyone else's. Or they'll say " we don't need to think about that, we need to just worry about sat." Why, the point to volnation is so we as vols fans can discuss any and everything vols. Some people need to freakin relax and enjoy the season.

People who say that CLK will go back to USC after CPC retires, obviously don't understand the dynamics of that fan base, and CLK. Most Trojan fans view CLK as a daddy's boy, who lost to Texas, and benched Bush on the most important play of that game for USC offense. Not to mention there is a bit of overlap with USC and Raider fans. So he leaves USC and goes and coaches the Raiders, and we all know how that ends.

Their fans always viewed Sarkisian and Chow as the brains behind the offense, and CLK was never in their graces.

I voted 7-10, but he could be here longer. The only thing I think could happen is that if CLK has mega success with UT, his only option to move up would be the NFL. Similar to what Spurrier did. He already had the championships in CFB, he wanted to test it out in the NFL. However, I think CLK has too much passion for recruiting to go back. And he has no ties to any other major universities. He could very well be here for the long haul.

first, more people posting threads about whatever enters their head is not really a great idea. And second, if you post a thread be ready for it to be critiqued. That's pretty much the whole point of a message board

and third the thread was posted and the same day kiffin signed a six year contract so it's not like the subject just entered my head. and 4th i don't mind being critiqued but not if the only reason is because we need to worry about our upcoming opponent. im not on the team, im a huge fan so i don't have to focus every freaking moment on sat. game

On another thread someone mentioned that kiffin will leave after 6 yrs for "greener pastures" which i completely disagree with. I think CLK will be here for Years to come. My Points

1. No ties to Notre Dame
2. Didn't have a great NFL Experience so why go back
3. We have A 1st rate program when it comes to tradition, athletic facilities, and we play in the best conference.
4. After he builds the vols into a powerhouse, he's gonna stick around to enjoy it!

what do you guys think?

I guess i didn't think that if carroll left kiffin would be such a punk %Y@ ^! and go running back to Cali. NEVER did i think for one minute when i posted this thread that Kiffin would leave after 1 yr. I was caught drinking the kool-aid.

Screw you LAME KIFFIN and If i ever see you I'm gonna slap your face with my DOOLEY!

Don't sweat it. I said in one of my post a day or two before he was hired that USC wouldn't hire him as a coach.I was pretty certain they would land the Oregon St coach,or Sarkisian from Washington.
