I think it's awhile, personally. If I use what happened to Florida when Spurrier left and we had to endure the Zook years, I think UT is at least five years away. Especially given the classes and momentum that Alabama and Florida have going right now.

If I had to predict, I'd say Dooley is here 4 years, unsuccessfully, and then it all depends on who we hire next. Hope I'm wrong.

If he doesn't have the recruitng success that Zook had, relatively speaking, I don't think its that long.

Let's get through spring practice and possibly through one year before that stupid arse question gets asked! There is a lot of work/repairs to be done so let's give it time before we address the championships. We don't even have a complete staff yet!

Stop stirring the waters LG!

I think you overestimate our fanbase. Even if he's doing terrible, I think people will give him more time because he doesn't change the color of the uniforms. That and the expectations will start out very low.

I voted this year just to show how stupid this poll is at this point!

Unfortunately I believe it is probably at least 5 years away. Who would have ever thought in 1998 that our next SEC title might not be for another 20 years. The SEC is strong. 4 straight national titles. We have a ways to go. We should expect a title every 5 years. Hopefully when it does come it will be in bunches.

Florida's situation was totally different than TN. Even though Zook was a terrible coach, he was a good recruiter. The tools were in place, all Florida needed was for a good coach to come in and start winning. TN needs a good coaching and good recruiting. Unless Dooley is a guru in both recruiting and coaching it may take awhile.

Wow I am a bama fan and from looking in from the outside it doesn't look as bleak as you make it out to be. If DD comes through, it's possible you can make it to the SEC champ game next year. Florida could be your only obstacle with GA being down, and who knows what is going to happen with the meyer situation. And once you make it to the game, who knows :) Are the odds in your favor for next year, no. But It's certainly not outside the realm you could win the SEC inside 5 years.

You never miss an opportunity to rub it in. That is what makes you LG.

How ironic that a Gator troll started this thread/poll.

I guess I was curious to see how the vote would turn out vis-a-vis the "We are doomed" crowd and the "Get on the Dooley Bus"crowd.

When Kiffin came on board and his antics bgan, he was such a difference compared to Fulmer, finally kicking sand in the face of the bullies, that UT fans were really enthusiastic.

Then he screwed you.

This guy comes in and a big percentage gives him no chance. I happen to be in that group, not because I know one way or the other whether he's a good coach, but because it seems evident to me that he's stop gap, designed to get things stable, not viewed as the actual solution.

We are having a pity party. Unless you have something negative to say, please don't waste our time. :)

I'd also point out that the overwhelming leader is 5 years-plus. Its hardly me being a troll that caused that result.
