How long should we give Pruitt?

Honestly I've seen a lot of different opinions. I'm just curious how many years and why that long. What expectations do you have over these years? We didn't start out great but I do see a lot of positive coming from Pruitt. A lot of characteristics that over time could mold a solid football team. So how long do you give him before you jump off the bandwagon?
Apparently one game.

27 years, then CJP will retire from coaching at the University of Tennessee. Over his career he will earn 11 national titles, 20 SEC titles, 22 SECe titles and 39 bowl wins. He will go down in history as the best coach in college football history!
I hope that answers you question!
GO VOLS!

He gets at least 4 years so you might as well live with it.

He’s getting 3-4 years regardless of how long we want to “give him” so sit back and enjoy. We better see marked improvement each year of the heat on his seat will be unbearable and the Haslams will overthrow Phil and bring in another puppet

I think it is wrong to put a specific time frame in place. Everyone can tell when a coach is not going to be able to move a program forward. So why try to define a time frame? No need to. He can either do it or not.

I know this, changing coaches every few years just continues to prolong the time the program will be down..

SOME people write a thread simply to get responses. THIS IS THE MOST ASININE ONE ; TODAY. I cannot fathom that a real UT fan could dream this one up.
Remind me again why it's terrible to consider asking other VFL'S how long they think this rebuild will take? Didn't know considering others opinions on our favorite football team to be asinine.

3 years with progress each year shouldn't be hard to accomplish. No cliches or any of that nonsense

Agreeable. I stand very open minded and it was more of a question wondering. What do we need to see that will tell us we are being progressive. What tells us that were regressing.

I think your title elicited the reaction but reading your actual post, I don't see anything wrong with your question.
If the title had been "How Long Will the Rebuild Take" followed with your exact same post, bet everyone responds differently.

Many, many people on Volnation would have called for Johnny Majors firing if the internet had been around in 1980-1981.
Except for the fact he had won a national title at PITT so that gave people hope he would do the same here. I think Pruitt will get it done here but I got tired of the lame ass reasoning posted above for Butch Jones. It is not relevant, coaches weren't making millions in the 80s, hell I'm not sure Johnny was making 6 figures.

I think we fire him after he goes 2-6 in his first 8 games and hire Saban for $15 million a year.

Reason a lot of us may not want to entertain the question is because it'll mean we're screwed, again, if CJP doesn't work out.
Naming a time frame now is an exercise in futility because there are too many variables that can change at any time.
How about we review at the end of each season, like normal people would.

I cannot even believe I am seeing this thread 60 game minutes into Pruitt' s career at UT. It's the equivalent of the groom checking out the bridesmaids while he is standing at the alter kissing the bride.
Agree, this thread is ridiculous on so many levels.
