Honestly I've seen a lot of different opinions. I'm just curious how many years and why that long. What expectations do you have over these years? We didn't start out great but I do see a lot of positive coming from Pruitt. A lot of characteristics that over time could mold a solid football team. So how long do you give him before you jump off the bandwagon?

Im not on the bandwagon but I'll take a stab at it. Isn't the delineation between great coaches and all others year 3? If so, 3 years.

He deserves 4 years minimum, with a big improvement in year 3. CBJ left him with an almost bare roster. He is having to recruit starters and depth. He is a real football coach that deserves the time, unlike the two before him.

I tend to agree with Clay Travis on this one, he's said for a while that Year 2 is the year that most great coaches make a big improvement. There are obviously exceptions but I think it's a fair assessment. And I definitely think by Year 3 if you haven't seen great improvement then the writing is on the wall.

Wow what a thread, I say we stop with the revolving door at head coach and stick by our coach. We have a coach that knows how to coach it's been proven so instead of bandwagons or how many years I'm going to support him and this team. If we continue to change coaches every 3-5 years we'll remain where we are currently.

How long should we give Pruitt to do what?

3-4 years minimum. Let him recruit and get his players in here and coached. Give the team a chance to I learn his playbook. Also fine tune the staff. Chances are the staff we have now won't be the same at the start of next season.

Until Florida.
No but seriously, knowing Tennessee luck, Pruitt will be fired or leave willingly here only to go on to become a bigger and better coach. (Too much moonshine and whiskey leads to bad luck). I mean is there really much difference between he and Kiffin? Both proven winners who love to coach football? How do we even know he wouldn’t dip after year 1? Lol I know some of that is a little sarcastic, but when I look at him, I still see Alabama lol. How long will that take to wear off??

This is a respectable answer. I think he deserves a ground up rebuild. Even if some expectations are to have everything going perfect as of next year.
