How long does it take to get good at Gears???

Got my 360 during my "timeout". I love it. I only have Gears, but damn this game is hard online.

Any tips??

Been playing sparingly for months and I still suck. Couple of tips though....download the new maps....and play Annex...you spawn faster after getting it handed to you.
