How long do Stoops at KY and Beamer at USC hang on??

Beamer would have to have another year of this kind of season to even consider him being on the hot seat. Hes been so wishy washy on good seasons and bad thr past few years. I dont know what they'll do.

Gamecocks looking for a decent coach this off-season would be an exercise in futility.

They would be so far down the list that SBB would be putting off interviews with them.

My guess is that Stoops retires tomorrow

He wants the money. No way he retires.

Either he stays or he convinces UK to buy him out for a percentage of the remaining contract.

Mildcats are not gonna spend $37 million to buy out a FB coach. No way

Either way, it's a program trapped in perpetual purgatory.

Why they even took him back after his dance with A&M is beyond me. Seems that would have been an excellent point to say bye bye.

Sorry you told us you were leaving and we moved on. Best of luck in future endeavors

I don't even think they'd spend half that in lump sum to give him to retire / step down tomorrow

Oh I agree. They may be able to find $10 million or so squirreled away somewhere to pay him to go away.

Stoops would be wise to accept half a bag of store brand potato chips and leave. He has taken the Wildcats for enough money and this is sad-even for KY

He has $37m fully guaranteed buyout. Kentucky ain’t spending that much coin for football
You're probably right, but the rot starts at the top with an AD that overstayed his welcome and made 2 crucial mistakes with lifetime contracts for Cal and Stoops.

Yup, that is puzzling. Maybe he thought that since they were older coaches, that would help the transition or something....

There are probably a few exceptions, but lifetime contracts don't provide the proper motivation.

Quite bewildering.

Barnhart (the AD) is retirement age, but don't expect him to retire before the year is over. By then, he will either let Stoops go another year or cave to fan pressure and make a botched hire.

Looked him up..Stoop a bit younger than I would have guessed.

Give him one more year. Brutal year to hire this late in game.

Neither USCjr nor UK could do any better than they currently have

I think KY could do better at this point, or at least should try. They won't because they are stuck with the buyout but Stoops is on the downslide of his career and it will probably just get worse. Once his buyout gets lower they will likely pull the trigger because by the way he's going they'll be a 2-3 win program again. His best days are behind him.
