How is BIG ORANGE going to beat TIGERS!

Dorsey is a smarter player this year compared to last. He knows what he means to this team. He is playing better ball all around.

i don't see dorsey as smarter. he still tries to block everything on earth. the difference is that the perimeter D now gives up far fewer unabated drives that force Dorsey to help.

While I agree with the second part of your statement, I do think Joey has gotten smarter. I have seen many times this year (especially the Gtown game) that he is not overly aggressive and might let the player go by if he doesn't have a good angle on him. He seems to be picking his battles better.

dorsey reminds me of randy moss in showing up when he wants to. i think by feb. tenn will be the best team in the country with the way their defense forces turnovers. memphis will try to play fast paced with tenn and get spanked. big brother wins again. does anyone feel memphis is not even in tennessee? i find it hard cheering for them in anything
You just have to be from around here, TN sucked for years MPS was rolling with Keeth & doon. It was on the radio. No Vols even beeing broad, around here. MEM radio.70's,80's 90's now 2000's. great to see TN teams (ALL) doing good!GO TENNESSEE!

Memphis has been the most talented team for the last 2 years IMO. They have outstanding athletes, but they do not always play with basketball smarts. Dorsey could be tremendous but it is hard when you get 3 fouls in the first 5 minutes of a game. Tennessee can play with and even beat Memphis, but if Memphis plays smart I don't know any team that will beat them at their place. Time will tell.
Amen!

The king's English is being brutalized in this thread. :p

It's too early to worry about Memphis. We have Gonzaga and quite a few SEC games to think about between now and then.

By the time we get to Memphis, I think we will be gelled together. Hopefully Lofton and JaJuan will be out of their funk. When they are, this team will be deadly and will be able to compete with anyone, including Memphis. If we played Memphis right now, we would probably lose. But I wouldn't count Pearl out even in that situation.

Yes Dorsey is learhing but, 2 fouls in 5 won't help Mem.

I wouldn't count on that to win a game. Dorsey is one man. Memphis has others to take his place. I'm still saying he is a better and smarter player this year. This is my 3rd year watching him Cal has done a good job with him. It has taken time, but it will pay off.

I really believe that Memphis will go undefeated and win the NC this year. There is really just no team that I have seen that can run with them for 40. Even if they're playing terribly (USC) they are still in any game. Memphis' 1st and 2nd team could play with anyone in the country. Sorry I just call em like I see em. I'm sure it will be a really good game atmosphere and the Forum should be packed so it's something to look forward to, but as mentioned before a lot could happen by then. By the way does anyone have any extra tickets. I haven't seen tickets this scarce since, well, never now that I think about it.

Memphis has the athletes to match up with Tennessee for sure. If they play smart on defense UT will be in trouble. Lofton will be guarded by someone bigger and faster than he is as will most of the Vols. Dorsey has the range to cover Chism anywhere on the floor, Ramar will have his hands full with Rose. JP Prince will probably have to cover CDR, leaving Tyler Smith to guard Dozier. Both teams like to run so it will be up and down, I think Tennessee will have to shoot well from behind the arc to have a shot at stealing that game in the Forum.

undefeated? and NC? you really think they are THAT good. they have not played anyone good on the road yet and they will have a bullseye on their chest in the tournament. i dont see them coming out of their brackett much less winning it all. but its late december who knows

At the beginning of the season I would have said that they are not that good, but this is when teams start to gel and you see their true potential and yes I think that Memphis has more potential than anyone.

Although they haven't played anyone on the road they have played OK, USC, UCONN, and CIN away from home. Their worst game is now probably @ Houston. Regardless I think that a CUSA Champ. (CUSA Tourney in Memphis) and a 1 or 2 seed is a given. On the other hand UT has a pretty tough schedule and you really can't say that for sure that they will be SECC and higher than a 3 seed in the tourney. And the tourney bracket and seeding is really what matters.

Having said all that I guess I should clarify that I do live in Memphis and see more UM games than UT games. Plus the Tiger poo is really flowing around here these days.

I have tickets but no spares. I have a feeling you would just have to scalp them. "Suuposedly" people were selling the Gtown tickets for $10 outside the arena last Saturday.

 If a team is in the tournament and they have to believe the other team has a "bullseye" on them, they don't deserve to win the game. Everyone has a "bullseye" come March/April. I can't stand that cliche to be honest.
