How important is the Auburn game for us

It’s games like this that Tennessee will find a way to win and the light starts to flicker again. We all get happy thinking maybe, just maybe we have righted the wrongs. Only to realize mice have chewed the wire...

I think it’s important to the players and coaches, and it should be to the fans. If all the players were seeing the writing on the wall as well as some of you claim to why aren’t we seeing massive opt outs? Everyone in that football office needs to show up this week and represent themselves with some damn pride. There’s talent there, somebody needs to step up, take ownership and lead the team.

I think this game is real important for us to win, because it'll kind of give the confidence back to the players, fans, and coaches. Is it important to win this game?
Very important. A win here and 4-4 is the record going into the last two games at home in December as underdogs against two teams not used to freezing cold temperatures

And if they come out flat and look like they couldn't care less??? THEN what? Once you lose the team... IT. IS. OVER!

Everyone knew in the off season this season was a "throw away" season because of COVID. This season is being played because the Universities needed revenue keep their Athletic Programs from disappearing. It was an attempt to keep the coaches and players in school and away from exposure to the Virus. This attempt has been somewhat successful. However, the game of football has suffered from the virus. Practices have been erratic and spotty at best. In coming Freshmen have not had the opportunity to learn the play book or be coached in the manner required to play football this season. This was anticipated and players were given the opportunity to opt out for the season and even if they decided to play, their scholarships would be extended an extra year. It is truly a throw away season. I know that many of football fans will evaluate the season as if it was a normal season. IT WAS NOT. Unfortunately, players progress is being judged as if the as if this was a normal season. Coaches are being evaluated and fired as if it was a normal season, and fans are criticizing players and coaches as if it was a normal season. This Athletic season should be compared to the rest of the job market, school attendance, working at home etc.

I applaud the workers of our Nation, the school systems of our Nation, the medical community of out Nation and the citizens of our Nation for reacting as well as they ave our this pandemic. However, I am not sure, we as fans, have treated our Athletic Programs as fairly as we should have during this very abnormal year. Are we holding them to a higher standard than we have other sectors of our society? I don't think so. We also have to realize that the upcoming year will also be abnormal, especially until a majority of our population an be protected against COVID. Let us not forget what everyone has gone through this year and what we can expect for the coming year.

I encourage each of us to do our part and respond positively to our Athletic Programs and support them during this most difficult environment we have witnessed except during our periods of War. I also encourage each of us to take advantage of the COVID vaccines as soon as ample vaccines are available. If we don't, next year will likely be a repeat of this year.

I want us to win but how important is it to win this particular game? It's not important if we use this game to actually improve the team going forward as in benching non-performers and building for the future. If we trot out the same usual losing characters, using the same usual losing tactics, executing about like we been have in losing blow out efforts, then it hurts us twice as bad as that is a lose lose situation. We can make it a lose the game win in the long run situation by doing something different.

At this point of this season,,, no more than any other. We have pissed away a pissed away season. On the other hand , when it became obvious where we were going, it seems to me we should have started giving the youngsters game time experience and quit "hoping" for miracles from several who should be or are on the way out.

Your probably right. In fact I’m sure your right. We have many problems we can’t do anything about and it’s frustrating. I was talking to some old friends yesterday ( all over 60 ) and was shocked to hear them say they won’t take the vaccine. I’m going to because I feel it’s my patriotic duty. We have to get back to work and get this COVID behind us.

Not rooting for them to lose at all. I hope JP figures it out and never loses another game in his career here. But the writing is on the wall.

So it's important that they lose, but your not hoping they lose. Well ok then...

Its important in that I want to see how HB plays and how he handles his first start in the SEC. I'm hoping that he balls out and the team is reinvigorated with a new QB at the helm and we're all saying "Why wasnt he playing all along!!!"................then I woke up.

The play calling will show us “if” this game is important to “Tennessee.”

Sure every game should be important. Sure it’s important to many fans. Sure any win would be important right about now.

However we will see “by the play calling” if the game is important to Tennessee.......if the play calling is ANYTHING like the Arkansas game.......we will know Pruitt and company doesn’t feel the game is important.

Obviously the Arkansas game wasn’t.

Every game is important in one way or another but this season pretty well went down the tubes by losing to Kentucky and Arkansas.
