to show Tennessee support next year if Derek Dooley returns as head coach in 2013?

I won't spend a dime on the team if he is back.

If DD comes back, I'm still gonna watch every freakin play of every game because I love this team more than I love any dead beat coach. What's wrong with you people?

cool, the sunshine pumping extraordinaire has commented in my thread.

Don't you have to go help Barbara tuck Derek in later on tonight?

Thank you fade! You may not support the coach but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't support the team. No matter who the coach is, I will always support UT.

Some people don't want to support a **** product. Doesn't mean I can't watch on tv.

true fan huh?

Never said that. Why is it everytime someone disagrees with someone else they have to be a sunshine pumper or a true fan? If you don't want to support the team because of a particular coach that's your choice. I don't agree with it but that doesn't mean I am going to call you a negavol or anything else.

I will be supporting the UT Vols. If Dooley is the coach, I will support him, too. If Phil Fulmer is brought out of retirement, I would support him. If Jon Gruden is hired, I will support him. It doesn't matter who is in the coach's seat, I will support the BIG ORANGE!

Even though I don't support the coach, realistically there is no way I am spending a Fall football season without watching UT play. Will I spend money to drive over to Knoxville to see a game with Dooley as coach? No. TV only but no PPV.

Enough with the hero comments. We all love the team, but if dooley is back next year the excitement will be completely drained from the fanbase

I imagine every alum will continue to suport team and school, every donor and every season ticket holder that requires a donation [or lose priority] will continue to support the team. Some levels of sidewalk fans like those who rarely if ever actually go to games will only provide mouth service and head banging. Some who have purchased season tickets w/o a donation will drop out. Some who go to a game if someone offers them a ticket will not go but the CORE fan will ALWAYS support the team regardless of the coaching staff in place. To me, as an alum - every trip to Neyland is magical and every trip back to campus is a reminder of a great 4 yr period of my life.

Enough with the douchebag comments. Its perfectly ok to want Dooley to get canned and still want to watch the team play each Saturday.

Yeah, I say your right ... the only ones that are truly Vol fans are alums, donors, and season ticket holders. This is the reason the fan base is at each others throats. I was born and raised in the great state of Tennessee. I have been a Vol fan for over 30 years and will be till my last breath. Tennessee represents more than just the university and just Knoxville. If you remember " I Gave My All For Tennessee Today".
