How good is UAB?

I know the surface stats: 6-1 overall this year so far, 3-1 in C-USA, No. 2 in C-USA West.

But how good are they?

I vividly remember sitting in the North End zone for our 2010 game for the Matt Simms game-winning TD pass to Denarius Moore to beat them 32-29 in double overtime, which took place right in front of me. Could this be a trap game, or have we turned the corner?

Don't kid yourself...UAB is a really good ball team. They will play us very tough and this one could very well go into extra sessions as well.

UAB will come in here looking to make a statement. They're a much better team than GSU. But for that matter, so are we. We need EVERYONE back.

Man, I had put that game out of my memory. Thanks for bringing it back, lol. Yeah I was there for that debacle and it was the worst game I had ever seen us play (at the time). I really hope we don't look past these guys, because they have all the reason to be jacked for this game whilst we don't. I think you guys know we can lose to anyone if we don't play well...

I believe we beat them handily if we bring that same intensity we brought to bama and sc, however i do expect UAB to come in fired up because although UT isnt UT of 98 (yet), they are still Tennessee and UAB knows this.

Worth noting that UAB has had a schedule strength of 130 (last) and ours is 24th. They have played no one.

We should beat them, but it would be foolish to underestimate them.

Side note, if I ever had to pick another team other the Vols to cheer on...I might pick UAB. I don't really have an affinity towards any other place than our college, but UAB won me over because of their story. How their program was terminated after their 2014 season and came back in 2017 after raising some $27 million dollars. Since then they've looked pretty good. I even remember our band played their fight song once before. Some good videos about that + what video I could find of us playing their fight song:







I know I didn't offer much in the way of their strength. We should win, but yeah as I said before nobody should really underestimate them. I'm sure they'll be bringing their best against us. Anyway, go Vols!

I'm sure our guys want to get to a bowl game, so I expect them to come hard these next few games.

UAB is a well coached football team. However, they can't really throw the ball and competition has been poor. I think the question you should be asking is will the Tennessee football team show up.
