Now we are hoping for Brom. What a cluster****. Not one person would have been happy about this a week ago. Get ready for another 5 years of mediocrity or worse. A first year coach at Purdue is our great hope to compete in the SEC. What a sad time for such a great program.

Brohm isn't as bad as you're making him out to be. First choice? No. But he's heads and shoulders above some other names floating around.

More like "how far we keep falling." Hiring Brohm (which isn't going to happen) would actually be a rebound from where we were on Sunday.

"Rock bottom" was supposed to be:

Firing Fulmer
Kiffin leaving
Hiring Dooley
Firing Dooley
This year's Georgia game
Firing Butch
This year's Vanderbilt game
0-8 in the SEC
Offering Schiano/backing out

At this point, I would be surprised if the next development is finding out Neyland was built on a sinkhole and has to be immediately demolished.

Nothing would surprise me now. Sad sad times. Two mediocre coaches ago we were an elite program without question. Now we are the worst team in the SEC with another mediocre unproven coach to be named later.

Amazing how it took Ms. State 2 days to find them a new coach and we got coaches turning us down left and right. Think it could be cos of the fan base?

It’s JMO, but I think it’s cowardly to blame the fans. We aren’t the ones who made our first choice a coordinator on nobody’s radar with a losing record as HC with some sort of tie to a terribly despicable scandal. I’m not saying he did anything wrong at all. But he was not being considered by anyone at all and that was our ADs first and only choice. But it’s the fan’s fault.

Will Healy at APSU would say Hell No

Everyone is saying no. Because the AD is likely to be gone very soon after the hire. And not knowing who your future boss is just screams instability. No one that is successful wants instability.

Here is what needs to happen imo. Either name Hoke the HC or promote Shoop or one of the other assistants on a 1 year only deal. Fire Currie. Hire David Blackburn. Next, give a serious look into how to get rid of Davenport. Then, see about removing the Haslams from the sports side of Tennessee. Next year, go out and get a great coach.

I see your point, but one year deals hurt more than they help. But really I see your point. I just don’t know what to do at this point. Now we are being turned down by first year coaches at programs like Purdue. Honestly who would have ever thought this could happen at UT?
