Well, I read the part about program manager and Saban being a better recruiter, but missed the part about NIL and the mafia.

Sorry, man. I can’t agree that CJH is a better coach than a guy with .801 winning percentage, 13 playoff appearances, 7 national championships, 11 conference championships, 11 division championships, and a litany of coach of the year awards.

He’s got a long way to go.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion. I like our guy and I think Saban is past his prime and has lost a competitive advantage he enjoyed for a long time.

Saban has had a great career no doubt, but I'll take CJP in a head to head match up today - and I would especially with equal talent.

Seriously. Can you imagine what Kamara could have done last year in Heup's offense with Hooker under center? Alvin could have been only the 2nd player ever to ring up 1k rushing/1k passing. In college that is.

Given equal player talent and if all game breaks, penalties, etc were equal Heupel would beat Saban 70% of the time.

Every week I see improvement in some aspect of play and not just another brick that never builds anything but a landfill for the hopes and dreams of Vol fans everywhere.
We haven't seen a coach using trash from McDonalds to pay players to under perform at Tennessee.

Trash has been the program for years but not now, we are now past the days of symbolism of the trash can, Tennessee is now a 48ish hours from beating Alabama two years in a row.

Its been a wild ride but in the end I think it was worth it!!!

The darkest days were those final weeks of the 2020 season. Pending NCAA investigation, a dumbass coach with a $13 mil buyout & losing badly to A&M & Florida.

Yeah, that RB that you speak of ran out of bounds on 4th and 3 late in the 4th qu. versus Vandy. I paid good money to see that game; I want my money back.

The most telling was when the previous coaches took over and immediately went 5-7 their first year and then improved by only a game or two in year two. Heupel won 7 his first year with a depleted roster and then a whopping 4 win improvement his second year. We have a great coach.

IMO, CJH is more cerebral than most current head coaches. Maybe not all and maybe not Saban, but he took a DEPLETED, roster amd made it to a bowl game in Year One. In Year Two he used the portal and his game management abilties to take this program to 11 wins.

Like you, i don't know that he is the next guy to get a street named after him in Knoxville, but at this point when i look around the college landscape, i wouldnt trade him for any other coach.

Again just my opinion, but if he were playing chess agaisnt most other coaches, he is gonna win far more than he loses.

With regard to Saban; the transfer portal coupled with the NIL may make his Bama teams seem more and more beatable.

And rightly so. We now have the best Athletic Program we have had in years and likely the best ever. We have a football coach who has won everywhere he has coached and a Staff who actually teach the players how the play the game. We are now getting players that other top teams are trying to get to play for them. And we are again playing in the strongest Conference in football. All of this in just over three years under new leadership. Good football Administrations, caches, players, and fans hate to lose. I LIKE THAT WAY.

The transfer portal and Nil were both godsends for the Tennessee program.
