How Far Do We Drop

Said this yesterday... Louisville got the star treatment and only droped a few spots after losing to clemson in close game. We should get the same treatment. But knowing how they treat us, 15 - 17. Always 8 spots for us

I think we'll wind up at #10 or 11. Would be surprised if we go any lower than that. Nebraska will go to #9, but Baylor won't leapfrog us after barely getting by ISU. The big question marks are Wisconsin and Houston. Will they drop Houston below UT? I think they will because Houston is no longer in the playoff picture. Wisconsin lost to Michigan and followed with a bye week heading into next weekend's matchup with OSU, so that one is trickier to predict.

The powers-that-be will want the Bama game to be as big a deal as possible, meaning a #1 vs #11 (or, pray, #10) would be a much bigger draw than #1 vs #17. Then again, they would want a higher rank for Wisconsin in that OSU game, too, so maybe Wisconsin will be ahead of the Vols.

without all our key injuries, the impact those players would have made, its absolutely no doubt in my mind that we beat them without all the OTs required

we'll drop to 13 imo

I think that is the exact reason they won't drop us too far. We showed our depth and our resilience. Skills all over the bench! Besides, who will leapfrog us? Three teams below us would have to fill in slots 10,11, and 12, assuming Houston remains above us. But this is what happened yesterday to the teams immediately below us:

-- Miami lost
-- Baylor had a bye after narrowly escaping ISU
-- Nebraska won
-- Wisconsin had a bye after losing to UM
-- Ole Miss has 2 losses already and had a bye
-- Stanford lost
-- UNC lost
-- Arkansas lost
-- Florida...need I go into that?

Nebraska is likely to jump over us and take over the #9 spot. Their wins have been solid. So that puts us at #10.

Houston could drop below us, which moves Nebraska up to #8 and keeps UT at #9.

Will Baylor or Wisconsin leapfrog us? I don't think Baylor will, but Wisconsin very well could, putting us at #10 or 11. Can Boise State jump from #19 to #10? Or West Virginia go from 20 to #11? Just not seeing it.

Don't see it unless they move some very weak undefeated teams up. 14-17 has 2 losses and Miami #10 lost to 3-2 FSU. Don't see Tennessee getting behind them for having 2 losses and Miami being a spot behind us. Really I am basing it on from other teams records and schedule behind us. No way a WV should be ahead of us with that weak a$$ schedule or maybe Nebraska or definitely a 2 loss team.

Good thing is, if we get back to winning it won't matter where we fall to this week.

True! We beat bama and we are 5 at worst, then top 4 goin INTO SECCG. #1 all the way from there!!!!!!

Polls will not come out until Monday due to game scheduling because of hurricane.

I think this game answered a lot of questions that people in the media wanted answered. The first this year was "Oh can the vols beat the gators?" They did in a pretty good fashion. Then it was "Well can they win on the road?" Took a little lick but they won, finally it was "Oh they can't compete with a West team" but they did.

If they don't cough it up three times in the redzone the vols win easily. So how far should we drop? I'd say no lower than 11, after watching the game you can see the flaws in A&M, they're not as dominant as everyone believes they are.

Now the next question will be "Well can they hang with bama?" I think they might be able to so long as they don't turn it over like they did. Bama hasn't looked invincible like years past, they can be beat and if they let the vols hang around we could beat them

They'll keep us at 9 or 10, they want a top 10 matchup with Bama and Bama will look better if they beat a top 10 team away.

IMO, Vols should remain immediately after aTm, wherever they end up. We lost in 2OT by one score on the road. Don't know how any other team could legitimately slip in between.
