How elite can our recruiting be with Jeremy Pruitt, Tee Martin, and Robert Gillespie?

I didn't like the idea of Jeremy Pruitt at first because I just don't like him as a person. But with rumors of him looking to assemble a staff with Tee and Robert Gillespie, I've reconsidered.

That trio would give us the best recruiting coaching staff in the country. For some reason players love Pruitt. Apparently Florida State players were campaigning for him to become the head coach of FSU after Jimbo left. Similarly, UGA players a few years ago wanted him to be named the head coach after Richt was fired. For whatever reason he has some voodoo over recruits and they love him.

Add to that Tee Martin and Robert Gillespie, and I think we getting top 5 recruiting classes every year. And when you consider the fact that instate talent in Tennessee is exploding, it would make the job of pulling in elite classes even easier.

Jeremy Pruitt might not be the name we all wanted but in the SEC recruiting is the name of the game. And its possible we could have the best recruiting staff in the country with this hire.

Recruiting? Jones could recruit.

Anyone with an IQ above plant life knows the key is coaching prospects to exceed their potential.

With Fisher at TAMU and Mullen at UF, I would say we will still be below Bama, UGA, TAMU, UF and Auburn.

So how many players in college ball today are exceeding their potential? My guess is none.

A good example is the roster at Mich State. D'antonio recruits mostly 3* types, redshirts them, coaches and conditions them. Of course 5* recruits SHOULD have a higher ceiling but the NFL is full of 2 and 3* types.

Pruitt is an elite football coach. I am excited about this hire.

Butch Jones won 9 games twice. Pruitt’s ceiling is higher than that.

I think Fisher is resigned to just collecting the paycheck. His $75 million is guaranteed no matter what. Mullen is not that great a recruiter. I think we'll pull better classes than Florida. Remember our instate talent is about to explode in 2019 and 2020. And finally, when we have it rolling, we can recruit better than Auburn. Better facilities, better history, better recruiting base.

I think its gonna be us, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida State battling it out for top 5 recruiting classes every year.

The only reason the NFL is full of 2 and 3* guys is because the recruiting services only hand out so many 5*.

Recruiting wise every year?

Probably. Do you honestly see us out recruiting them? We have finished higher than some of those teams with Butch but the only reason was because of sheer numbers. When you look at quality of recruits, we were middle of the SEC.

Definitely agree with uf.....if we get right staff ours will be better than uf.....i agree we should be in thick of those schools we should never finish out of top 10 and should hang around 5 give or take some years

Maybe I think it's possible you have to remember butch was negative recruited against badly because other coaches saw dead man walking his last 2 classes were jist ok for that reason. Uga will be tough with talent they have in state and they are rolling....bama..is bama....and Ohio state does what they do bit I think we stay right around them in rankings

I am thinking Dan Mullen will try to take Gillespie. If Fullmure can get a HC, I see him wanting Graham back.

Those 3 would be elite.....

Will take 3 years to see that though.

Tennessee has a MASSIVE black eye right now.
