For a long time I used Saturdays in the fall as an escape from whatever had me down in my life. I used it as an opportunity to be happy about something. Not that things have been so terrible, I could just always count on them to end my week on a high note. I start out every season thinking "This is it. We're going to claw our way back to the top." it hasn't panned out. We all know that. I used to wake up on Saturday morinings when I worked night shift just so I could hear the "Gimme that Rocky Top Tennesseeeeee!" in the College Gameday theme. I knew last year was starting off badly when we were scratched from the song. I'll start this season the same as I have the others. Believing that this will be our year to shock everyone. I didn't mean to get all sensitive on y'all. I just wonder....how do you use Saturdays in the fall? Is it the same as me? Is it to re-live your gridiron days? Is it for bragging rights over a buddy or relative that likes another team? (Like my rotten Gator fan cousin.)

I wake up every Saturday morning in the fall and it never fails, I think to myself "time to get the day started", then I think "what day is it", then I think "it's Gameday!!!!!" and I go straight into the living room and turn on ESPN.

Greatest time of the year.

I pretty much make sure that I am available to watch games every Saturday. I am frustrated when they lose, but my frustration goes no further then that.

I also spend way to much time on Volnation because of Tennessee.

Whenever I play NCAA football I always pick them.

I gave up letting losses affect me negatively. They have just been so frequent as of late. I only get angry when we lose a game to someone that we should beat....Wyoming 08, Kentucky 2011. The only time I don't use the Vols on NCAA is if I create a school. I always do custom schedule, and I NEVER schedule the Vols. I did have to play them in the BCS title game once.....and I let the Big Orange beat me. I just couldn't do it...

My life revolves around it. I'm the same as yall. I have turned down two higher paying jobs because I would have had to miss one game. I have a problem lol..but UT football gives me a high that every drug in the world combined would'nt give me. I'm in my own little world on gameday and it's how I deal with every day stress. I have to have my Vols!

Being stationed overseas, it gives me a feeling of home. I normally have to wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning to be able to watch the games, but it is worth it win or lose. Seeing the POWER T and the sea of orange makes me proud and reminds me of my childhood spending the day with my grandfather and 100,000 of our closest friends. Can't wait for the season to start.

Completely understand where you're coming from. When I was stationed in Minot, it was tough to be the only orange clad person on Saturdays. I got out of the AF, but didn't return to Tennessee. Maybe someday....

I truly come alive in the fall because of UT football.
My favorite things in life IN ORDER are:

1. My daughter (named PEYTON)
2. The rest of my family (including my wife.)
3. UT football
4. God (if im going to hell bc of this, at least I've already had a taste these last 4 years so I'll be prepared )

You guys just made my heart skip a beat. In all seriousness, I have the utmost respect for military vets that have served overseas. That takes more courage than any of us civilians can even dream. I thank you and solute you. Thank you for keeping our country safe and I hope you make it home safe and sound. Go Vols and God bless America !

I don't let it. I use it as an escape for a few moments in my busy life. I have no rituals. I have no superstitions....I just watch the Vols if they win, yay, if they don't...well better luck next week.
