How do you slow this down?

UT has more talent right now than Boise has had during their whole run. Theirs is experienced and developed but if we are talking about who has the most "talent" then UT is MORE talented than Boise even at this low ebb.

Such a Homer statement. Boise is a big fish...an elite team..UT is not. Best winning % in football and they have BEGGED all these so called powers to play them, and they have been turned down...year after year.

This is absurd. People are absolutely shocked when they hear that Boise has a couple of actual pro prospects.

Don't let UTs lack of QBs and player development fool you into saying stupid crap.

You didn't say that. You said they have more talent, which is ludicrous.

Talent as in how they are rated? Or talent based on how they play on the field?

Because Boise has gotten the job done consistently....

You also have to question why in the hell are a bunch of UT fans slanging sh** on BSU anyway. You guys surely don't want to play them and have them prove what the rest of the nation already knows...

I don't look at it that way, Boise has killed teams that have sent more players to the NFL than them.

I like to have a minimum of 1 point more than the other team when the clock strikes 0:00....but that's just me.

Usually, if you take the number of rushing attempts, and add to that the number of pass completions, and it's over 51, you generally won, or should've won, the game.

Maybe English is your issue then.

Boise has gotten what done? Best team they've beaten in all of it with something on the line: Oregon. Awesome stuff. Bowl wins over OU who didn't give a crap and TCU. Seriously?

I guarantee you I'd rather play Boise than anyone else in to top 25, and it isn't close. They aren't going to blow anyone off the ball and physically dominate.

Again, we aren't talking about NFL players sent to the league. I'm talkin about physical talent, in depth across the entirety of the field. That doesn't describe Boise in the least way. They have outschemed and outcoached, not overmatched.

Virginia Tech steals Cinderella's slipper tonight, then proceeds to beat them over the head with it.

Best way to stop L James is to put his girlfriend on the field. He will stop drop the football and choke her. We pick it up and run it in for six!

Haha that one got a good early morning laugh out of me! I sent it to a Beaver friend of mine so I am sure he has since forwarded it on the many others. Not that choking women is amusing, but that joke was a good one!

But, VT has a QB who thinks at commodore 64 speed as we have for the past several years. Unpredictabilty at its finest.

VT won't be running anything fancy at Boise , just down hill running and i don't like Boise's chances at stopping that.

Then Oregon gets Kudos for doing what numerous Big name schools have refused to do. And that's play BSU.

The irony here is that many fans talk crap about BSU, all the while not realizing that their school is too afraid to play them.

Hughes will have to be HUGE. We need penetration in the A/B gaps. I like the way our secondary matches up. And I feel confident in our LB corps, we need pressure up front to be in this thing late.

Our school would play Boise in a heartbeat if the damned wasn't home and home in essentially Saskatchewan.

Kudos to Oregon. Wonder when they scheduled that ballgame.

Not as much talent, but excellent coaching staff who gets the most out of their players,..that's BSU's strength...

Agree with a prior post, defense has to stay home play their gaps, pursuit just plays into the misdirection,..so the line battles will be fun to watch. Ball control,, pound the middle, (avoid going wide, Ducks are fast enough to stifle that). If there is a weakness, it's the middle against that hybrid 3-4 scheme.

Wilcox does know how tho stop this attack, or did,...he spent an entire summer in preparation last year, but the situation is different in that he has an actual full schedule to prepare for, not a one game season. Seriously doubt the Vols spent fall camp focusing on the Ducks.

I take nothing from the UNM game,...they were that bad. A team doesn't show up with a new QB, (who never ran the ball, NM reads always correct he didn't need to),..back up TB,...and an attack scheme remnant of last year,.. and score 35 points in 20, minutes of play against a d' unless, it just that bad. Lobo's were that bad.

Eager to see how the offense responds against a real D', but too I expect a totally different offensive set against the Vols, something that no one has seen (including Duck fans). We haven't been privy to the twin tailback set hinted coming.

Just going to be a fun game to watch, as the chess match between Kelly and Wilcox unfolds.
And except for this one game,...willing to give you a Go Vol's!

Well, Tennessee doesn't have a history of being afraid to play anyone (sans 2011). We actually play much tougher OOC than most of our conference teams, including N.D. and Miami when they were NC contenders. For some reason, we love to travel out West, so we play the Pac 10 often. Now, Georgia, there's a team that just starting playing teams that required an Airplane for travel. But they weren't afraid to play Boise State. They did a few years ago. I believe they did pretty well in that game.

Not UT but the big time programs are...

Did you look at when the points were scored? Oregon only added 13 in the second half, with back-ups. How is that not letting up?

UT added 30 in the second half.

I did ...but also noted that NM had 5 turnovers that lead to 5 scores and gave up two PRs for TD's. Oregon kicked a bunch of field goals when the game was well in hand too.

Unless the Vols have a complete meltdown ...you can take a bunch of those points off the board right off the top.

Not saying we win hands down ...but we shjould make it alot more interesting than NM. Again , don't crown them just yet. UT only beifited from 2 turnovers

our starting kicker was suspended, we had to make sure the back up was good enough that we could redshirt another. it wasn't really running up the score.

How do you slow that down? Hmmm, maybe if UT could somehow offer Boise States defensive coordinator a job, wait a minute........

I've seen this said so many times here that it almost seems like a mantra. Will Vol fans be bemoaning his hire if he isn't able to exploit the same weakness that he did last year?

serious question, not baiting anyone.

Not this Vol fan. I would see no shame in losing to a VERY good Oregon team, but don't show us a bunch of highlights against a VERY bad NM team and ask us how are we gonna stop that. If you don't want the same answers, then don't ask the same questions. TENNESSEE IS NOT NEW MEXICO

cool, JW is an excellent coach but it may take him some time to get his "program" installed.

as for the rest, you won't see me crowing about the UNM game, it was a tune up, nothing more.
