Say you're walking through the food court at your local mall, and a fellow Vol gives you a "ROCKY TOP!!!". What's your go-to response when a fellow fan shows their team spirit??

(*note: happened to me today, kinda confused me 'cause I'm used to being one of like two people here that proudly wear the proper shade of Orange everywhere I go. I managed a "Go Vols" in response, but it took me a second*)

Yell Go Vols. Anytime I see any Tennessee related gear here in Arkansas or anywhere, I go out of my way to tell them Go Vols, GBO, etc.

Happened to my brother yesterday. He has took a job in Iowa. He left hear the weekend of the TaxSlayer bowl. He was laying it on his new coworkers respectively.
Anyway back to topic sorry for straying off.
He headed to Cheyenne Wyoming yesterday. We were talking about how we can't wait to watch how the team looks this year.
He told me I'm wearing my hat Tennessee hat out here.
Low and behold he's in a restaurant last night and someone hollers "Go Vols!"
He said it caught him off guard at first but he let out a Go Vols!

It's funny because that used to happen to me all the time here in North Alabama right on the Tennessee border. But went for years without hearing it much. All of a sudden, orange is popping up everywhere again and I'm getting "Go Vols" at every turn. Part of me is happy to see the orange coming back. The other part of me is wondering where the hell all these people have been the last 7 or 8 years.

The wife and I were in The Dominican Republic last summer at a resort hanging by the pool when my wife noticed a lady walk by with a Vols pool bag. My wife being the good spouse of a died in the wool Volunteer fan gave her a hearty "Go Vol's". The lady stopped dead in her tracks looked at us and said "Heelll yeah go Vawwwls" in the best East Tennessee accent imaginable. I looked at my wife and said. "That's my people right there" so from now on that will be my response when someone here around Dallas says it to me. Most appropriate imho.

Respond with go vols, chug a beer, and that is about it. Yes, gulp down a cold one in a mall.

They were yelling Go Gators.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever came across a fellow Vol fan that yelled Rocky Top. They always say GO VOLS, or GO BIG ORANGE. I always respond though. I usually just say the opposite of whatever they said. If they say Go Vols, I say GBO, and vice versa. Sometimes I'll just say "How about them Vols" back to them though.

Edit: Oops, you said if a Vol fan "gives you a Rocky Top." I'm not sure what given somebody a Rocky Top is. Care to explain, anyone?

If I'm being honest I'm not sure this would immediately click because most Vols fans that I know don't typically yell out "Rocky Top!" It's usually Go Vols or some other common Vols cheer.
