If Tennessee Win 7-8 Games This Season How Do Y'all Think The Sports Media Will React?

  • The Sports Media will say the SEC and especially the SEC East was really weak in 2018

  • The Sports Media will ignore Tennessee because their predictions were badly wrong

  • The Sports Media will say Tennessee could have done even better if they had hired Greg Schiano

What do y'all think the Sports Media will say when Tennessee wins 7-8 games? I think the Sports Media will go on and on about how the SEC East is weak and that's how Tennessee improved so quickly.:rolleyes:

The national media? They probably won't so much at all about Tennessee. They don't spend a lot of bandwidth on slightly above average teams with no scandal or coaching search going on. They'll focus on the playoff teams first and then move on to schools with coaching changes or scandals.

The SEC media? Probably some combination of your 1st and 2nd option. No one outside of east Tennessee cares about, or even remembers, the Schiano thing by now.

Can't answer the question because I think there would be a considerably different reaction to 8 as opposed to 7. At 7, they'd likely be able to brush it off as someone not being as good as expected or... just pat Pruitt on the head and say "that's nice". With 8 wins, UT has outperformed expectations by about 3 games. They've beaten at least one "good" team and gotten a good bowl berth after the worst season in program history. Especially considering the schedule... they'd be hard pressed not to give Pruitt props.

I'm going to say that UT enters the season health and with more raw talent than 7 of their opponents when considered across the roster... so yeah, if Pruitt gets only out of the team what the talent says it should yield... they win more than 5. The only way you can say 5 is if you think Pruitt is as bad as Jones.
