How do we win in Afghanistan?

Anyone who knows history knew there was no victory there.

We are there because Pakistan is right next door...and is the only muslim country on earth with both terrorists and nuclear weapons. Our satellites focus on them every moment of every day. For good reason.

1 nuke goes astray and Israel could be devastated. Or a US city...if they could smuggle it into 1 of the million cargo containers that come thru our ports every year. Pakistan is a permanently "broken arrow".

Best to keep your friends close, and enemies closer. There will never be lasting change in Afghanistan. They do have the largest reserves of several rare earth elements on this planet, though. We wont mind getting our share of them.

Two US service members killed in Afghanistan - CNNPolitics
Two US service members were killed in Afghanistan when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, the US-led coalition in Kabul said in a statement. Two service members were also injured in the incident in the southern province of Kandahar. The service members, who were conducting operations as part of NATO's Resolute Support mission, have not been identified.

Last year was the deadliest in five years for the US in Afghanistan, with 23 service members killed during operations in the country in 2019.
