How did we get blown out by Florida?

The 4th down drop late I’m the 3rd quarter that likely would have been a touchdown was incredibly deflating. I believe Florida took the ball and drove down and scored. 14 point swing, essentially

Aren’t there a few gator fans who post frequently? I would love to read their take on Mullen.
Watching the Gators since the Alabama game has been mortifying. The Kentucky and LSU games were just Clusterf******s. Then, the defense plays their guts out for 27 minutes of the first half just to have the offense hand UGA the game on 3 successive drives. After that they quit. Last Saturday night the Gators roll into SC as a team with nothing to play for. They have a kid starting at QB that they probably love but don't believe is the best option at QB1. THAT KID somehow managed to tweak his knee prior to the game. SC was motivated and had something to prove. It didn't take long for the Gators to say eff it, it doesn't matter anyway.

I'm not sure anything will change it in a positive way. If UT played UF this Saturday you would beat the brakes off of the Gators. I and most 'reasonable' Gator fans I know were prepared for an 8-4 season this year and would have accepted it. However, this season stacked on top of the waste of a championship caliber offense last season, most of us are pretty much done.

We're just not sure who were going to get. Remember, Mullen was the 3rd pick when he was hired. The other two, Scott Frost and Chip Kelly, have gone 15-25 and 15-27, so we did ok with Mullen, going 33-14 to this point. The issue is that we believe he already peaked.

Time to move on. Will be rooting for you against UGA. Remember, as bad as we are, had the offense not handed UGA 3 touchdowns, it was a 13-7 game.

Florida still has the “talent” to beat Tennessee…….however if they played now I’m sure most would agree the game would be much different.

Just like Tennessee stomping on Missouri last year. Had Tennessee played them later, Tennessee most likely would have lost.

Tiny snowball rolling down a giant hill turns into a freakin huge snowball………….that’s where Florida is right now…….they quit.

Florida is our daddy until proven otherwise.

Horrifying flashbacks I am having.

I am already pointing to next year's Florida game as a key hurdle for Heupel. We have handled everyone in the East except Florida, and as usual we could have played much better.

Next year I am not saying we have to win, but we do have to play up to our potential.
I’m going to go ahead and say it. We have to win that game next year.

Florida has given up on Mullen.

After the Kentucky loss Florida has packed it in for the season. They have no interest in going to podunk city ice bowl in Billings, Montana in January.

Our players just didn’t believe at that point. Also, it didn’t help matter that heupel has made his first massive mistake in choosing the qb. Had hooker had more time to establish continuity with the wrs we might hit a few more big plays in that game.

Tennessee isn’t the same team that played Florida and Florida isn’t the same team that played us. Is Tennessee a great football team? Far from it but I’d like our chances if they played again.

Because the defense played like hot garbage that night for some reason.

A new coach, staff, players just need time to get it together. If we had the depth of Bama and Georgia, we would be competing with these top ten teams.

We started playing UF yearly 31 years ago and I think we've won 7. 3 of those were against Zook/McElwain. I miss Zook

First road game in a loud, hostile environment... at a time when our team was still having to think and process their assigments and reads on-the-fly.

That's this armchair sports psychologist's opinion. (and worth every penny!)
