There were no leading candidates mentioned between November 12-24.

It appears there were no serious overtures to Patterson, Petersen, Mullen, and leak.

Schiano becomes the leading candidate November 25.

WTH happened.

This is a great example of why a search firm should have been used. They do the grunt work vetting candidates and finding the skeletons. Companies use them all the time when hiring senior executives and this is why.

Stupid decision.

SchiaNO is a definite no no. That being said, do we know for certain who has and who has not been contacted for levels of interest? There has to be a level of secrecy to protect a prospective coaches current job in case the details don't work out. But at the same time we deserve a heads up as to where the admin is leaning. There has to be a happy median somewhere.

I cringed a little and had a Donnie Tyndall flashback.

Schiano never would have been presented as an option.
