How can you donate?
How can you buy tickets?
How can you buy merchandise?
How can you tell people you went to school there?
How can you even turn on the game on the TV?

This isn't about not supporting whoever the new coach might be and it isn't about not supporting the players. This is about not supporting this administration from the boosters to the chancellor to the president to the AD.

The University of Tennessee no longer values itself as an elite sports program football or otherwise. The fact that their top choice got offered a paltry sum of money shows how little they value being an elite football school. The fact that this will most likely be the third mid-major head coaching hire says more than what the media says. This isn't about rabid fans. These top coaches see that Tennessee isn't serious about winning and they want no part of it. Tennessee still isn't willing to put the money out to force a good coach to say no.

And no I guarantee the rumors that they were going to double Gundys salary were flat out false. UT is totally relying on gullible sheeple just showing up to game and further enriching these no good swindlers.

We can't do it anymore. We can't worry about it hurting players feeling. This has gotten so much bigger now. It will only stop if the angry mob persists long after this charade of a coaching search is over. They won't fire anybody until the money dries up.

How can you support this university?

Unfortunately that is a good question right now.

I just do.
It's like family, even during these messes, I still do.

I haven’t slept worth a damn since Saturday night.

The entire collegiate athletics program at my alma mater is officially a joke. I am speechlesss. And I’m done. I just don’t see how any respect or integrity in the current administration could ever be recovered.

Peace out guys and gals. I’m done. ✌️

Edit: until there is wholesale UTK admin rollover I meant. I just can’t watch the Three Stooges anymore ( jimmy, Johnny and bev)

How can you donate? - you don't
How can you buy tickets? - you don't
How can you buy merchandise? - you don't
How can you tell people you went to school there? - With Pride. This school system is not just football.
How can you even turn on the game on the TV? - you can, just don't let yourself get emotionally involved because you know what the outcomes will be.

It is not run by Tennesseans so it has lost touch with the people of this state. The BOT doesnt' care about athletics, the administration doesn't care about athletics, the Athletic Director apparently doesn't know anything about athletics. And just like with our politicians, there is nothing we can do about it.

Easy. I won’t. Not going until someone proves there is some level of competence in the athletic department and the administration

If you think anything the academic side has done academically validates having pride in the school then you aren't paying attention to the school

Nope. I agree with the OP. I saw my first game in '65. Season tickets for longer than most posters on this board have been alive. Not the biggest donor, but let's say it's over $20k per year. I've seen a great deal of ups and downs, but I kept the faith that we'd somehow get it turned around and fixed. Now I have no faith left. UT needs to go ahead and hire Doeren. Their finger is on the trigger. Just pull it and like a lame, old horse, put me out of my misery.

I have nothing left for this university and will give nothing to this university as long as things remain the way they presently are.

I'm not on social media so I don't know the lingo but if it's got the power everyone says...and I hope I do this correctly....#hireKiffin or #boycottUT

Today was the final straw for me.
I’m not going to come in here and dump on whoever ends up taking the job, but I am not investing in Haslam Football again until it’s clear the leadership has been fixed.

The ship has hit the iceberg, and the captain is watching television.

I’m not a wealthy donor. Just a guy who commutes a long way for a few games a year. I’ve had it. I’ve done with this disaster.

Still a Vol; just done ‘investing’ in this.

Support comes in different forms. If you have an addict in the family, support comes in the form of cutting them off financially. Same thing here. Cut them off financially.

It is a joke.

Baseball program is the worst in the SEC over the past 10-12 years and it shows no signs of getting better. They hired a young guy who is not well known as a great baseball guy in the coaching circles. They had a coach lined up but another SEC school came in and offered him and he jumped at the chance to get away from UT. Their goal every year is to finish 12th to be able to go play one game in Hoover.....and they rarely accomplish that goal.

Basketball: The goal every year is to just get to the post season whether it's the NCAA, the NIT, or the CCIT. The basketball team has only made it to the final four in the SEC tournament about 4 times in since it was brought back in 1979.....which is the last time it has won the tourney. They have only made it to the championship game 2 other times since.

Football: Officially the worst team in the SEC, just finished the worst season in Tennessee football history and the idiot AD set up a farce of a search so he could hire his buddy who no one else will even interview for football and non football reasons. Then, we try to go on the cheap in hiring a coach. After firing a coach who took the Vols to 5 SECCGs in 11 years, the Vols are now working on having their 5th coach in the past 11 years and no SECCG appearances. Since that time, the Vols are 58-55 and 23-49 in SEC play.

All of this while being one of the top revenue producing athletic departments in the nation. Now, let that sink in.

And there is nothing you can do about it because the Governor is the head of the BOT and his family is the main reason everything sucks so bad!!

Glory hallelujah, holy crap, where's the Tylenol!!

There was a time that my mood on Sunday and Monday depended on what UT did on Saturday. I grew out of that, and then just yelled and screamed at the TV and spent a ton of emotion during the games. Then I became a season ticket holder and would drop a few thousand for donations and for tickets followed by more money for trips up, hotels, dining, concessions, parking, etc.

That was then.......

Now I see an admin that has looked like Keystone Kops trying to make a hire. They (Haslam, Currie, and probably Davenport as well) have made UT appear to be a horribly run athletic program. Don't vet candidates, no search firm, crony hiring and a booster who has to control everything.

I keep hearing this is the bottom, no, now is the bottom, no, here it is...the true bottom. Truth is, we have no idea where the bottom is at, and I have a feeling we have not reached it yet.

When a company sees this kind of public relations nightmare, changes are made....I know Haslam needs to either give his money and let those in charge do what they see is right, or quit giving money and walk away. Haslam is not the AD, so let the people do their job. Currie just needs to go....We should have had Blackburn here anyway.

Anyway, this is a cluster beyond anything I have ever seen before. We have a ways lower to go until someone, somewhere who cares about UT football decides enough is enough. For my little piece, that time is now.....nothing will get renewed, no tickets, no donations, heck, I am thinking about new hobbies on Saturdays....If UTK is this broken, I can't watch it continue to fall on its face...

Guys, y’all have fun with this. I was looking forward to renewing my season tix if we hired a good coach since I have one going to college next year. I simply can’t and won’t invest any more of my time or money in this program. I’m out until they hire a great coach. That won’t be this year nor as long as the powers that be have the damaged thought process they do. Good luck to all.

I won’t. At least not the athletics side. I cancelled my season tickets and will be re-directing the money to my fraternity at UT and the department i received my master’s degree from at UT

Blind faith? Its love man. I have UT tattooed on my right shoulder and will never even consider the thought of having it removed. I am pissed off like the rest of us but you don't leave family in hard times.

Easy. I won't. As long as Currie, Davenport, Dieptro, and a Haslam is in control it's a dead program. When all of those are replaced and a great coach is in place maybe I'll be back. I've been going to games since I was 5 but not anymore. Send a message to them hit them in the pocketbook. My season tickets will be cancelled, no more merchandise will be purchased, and I will not watch them on TV. RIP Tennessee Football.

No words can justify the amount of frustration I feel reading this post. SMDH
