How bored does a cop have to be?

The cop just used it for probable cause.......he thought vader was bringing roids in from Mexico!

Serious question: Do cops who went into the force to "protect and serve" get frustrated by crap like this or do they rationalize it away since they are protecting me from my ADD?

It really depends on each individual person. You are going to have the gung ho zero tolerance crowd, the people who say no harm no foul, etc.

Generally speaking, if the department is large enough, that particular officer was a traffic cop and traffic cops are crazy!

Well it wasn't an issue for me since I didn't have to deal with that law....however from my own stand point. I hated writing tickets (unless it was an accident or reckless driving) for the simple fact I was just as guilty as the next guy. As stated........if i wrote it.....you talked yourself in to it!

I've been profiled.

I am white and the cop was black. Reverse racism! Reverse racism!

Somebody get Jackie Chiles on the phone.

Maybe he noticed the power T on my truck and thought I was a Tennessee football player. :p

here in LA i've got pulled over for the following things:

no front license plate (my car never came with one. cop lectured me about why i think i'm "above the law")

left brake light went out "occasionally" while braking

expired registration (even though it was paid, it was some sort of computer problem)

stopping too quickly at a stop sign i didn't see (not running through a stop sign mind you, but apparently braking too fast can get you pulled over)

:banghead2: God i hate the fix it ticket. such a pain in the arse.

I'm with OE, the traffic cops are crazy! But they have a right to be, I mean all you do is write tickets over and over, you don't get to do all the fun stuff!

When I was an intern with the court, there were not many officers that would write seat belt tickets, but there is one that does, and he is not a city cop, he is the Winthrop cop, shouldn't count!!! Oh well...

I think Vader experienced what many of us Texans have become aware of. Our poilice be it state/local/county officers are conducting a huge "sting" for lack of better terms, on the seat belt laws. It doesnt help that some of them can be condescending a-holes though.

I guess I'm different but the "boring" part was having to write tickets.
