How big is the Appy St. upset?

This was a true David vs. Goliath match.

To think that a team like this could take down a top 5 school is insane. This was the biggest upset I've ever seen.

I saw ASU play on tv several times in the last two years, invlufing their national championships and they really looked good. Granted, this win was a big shocker to me too, but in all honesty I really thought they would avoid a big blowout...which they did. I was thinking more like 31 -17 which would have been respectable, all things considered.
Incidentally, I was glad to see it. Don't care for the Big 10 at all.:dance2::dance2::dance2:

Being a native of Boone, I absolutely loved it. According to my family, the whole town was wild. Glad I had something this weekend to brag about. Let's go Vols. It was one game.

It's a huge media upset but in reality it's not that big of an unset considering Michigan has not had a quality win since 11-19-2005 when they beat Penn State

I guess giving Wisconsin their only loss last year didn't count.

It's a huge upset but not very shocking. ASU players know how to win cause that's all they do. 2 I-AA NC's in a row is no fluke. They were not intimidated in "The Big Shack".

$400,000 grand or $800,000 I cant remember exactly.

Should Michigan still be ranked in the top 25?

I dont think they should and Oregon runs the same kind of spread offense with much better athletes so they could easily be 0-2.

It was the biggest upset in the history of college football........but, honestly, I'm getting tired of hearing about it.

it will be all over ESPN today Mike and Mike First Take, Around The Horn, PTI, Jim Rome and so on, maybe you shouldn't watch ESPN today.

Definitely the biggest upset I can remember. The only thing that would have made it better is if it was against Notre Dame.

Beg to differ.

How about "not very shocking to me"? I have seen them play a few times before (my 2 brothers went to App St and live in Boone) and they are a very good and well-coached football team. Obviously UM expected them to roll over and take the money. Their coaches had a gameplan and it worked to perfection. I agree the size of the upset makes it the biggest but it was just not that surprising.

UM ended the season getting beat by an average-at-best OSU team and demolished by a good USC team. They were nowhere near their #5 ranking.

My wife and I both went to Centre. After seeing the Appy St. score scroll across the bottom of the screen on Saturday, I turned to her and said, "It's like C6-H0 all over again!" I remember walking past that score graffiti'd on an old building everyday I went to class there.

Here's to upsets and how they keep things interesting.:good!:
