How BIG is Nike.............

Did you just grab that number out of your ass? Because there aren’t $1500 worth of parts in a smart phone and all components are automated in mfg, they have to be. And that isn’t going to change regardless of where final assembly occurs.

And with regard to final assembly the most you will have manual final assembly. I’ll gladly walk away from a 30 year career in engineering for a $1500 per phone assembly pay.

You're greatly oversimplifying the problem.

This is where I got my estimate from

How much would an all-American iPhone cost?

This guy is saying it could cost as much as $30,000 if it were all made in America. Forget the number, his reasoning is what's important:

In fact, if Apple were forced to solely manufacture the iPhone in America, there is a good argument that it would not be able to manufacture any at all. And if they could somehow successfully make the manufacturing transition, capacity would likely be constrained to a just a few million units a year.

The issue here is not really about differences in the cost of labor. It is moreabout the supply chain and it is mostly about differences in the necessary skills required to manufacture hundreds of millions of iPhones at high-quality to satisfy current market demand.

Relative scarcity of qualified precision tooling engineers is just one of many reasons why it would be hard to scale manufacturing of the iPhone in the U.S. Foxconn employs over one million workers on its payrolls even as thecompany makes a big push into automation. The consumer electronics supply chain migrated to Asia three to four decades ago and rapid procurement of components is critical to cost, time-to-market and ability to scale. Logistics and infrastructure are also key for a product that is shipped around the world — seven of the world’s ten largest ports are in China.

So if someone has an opinion, they shouldnt express it? Gotcha.

"So?" is not an opinion.

"So?" is often used to inquire about the relevance of a post to the topic at hand.

"So?" is also invoked when somebody is butthurt about a post, but has nothing of value to say.

Since the relevance of my post to this thread is 100% abundantly clear, you're in the latter group, so I repeat, why say anything?

So why say anything to me then?

My bad. When people say they remember, I assumed they actually remembered.

LG always starts these kind of posts and sits back in his undies watching for replies and never says another word.

What did they say about the other?
Well in a campaign message he approved he said “she would say anything and change nothing.” That’s pretty much a less crude way of saying about her what Trump said about Cruz.

Thanks. Don't quite rise up to what Trump and Cruz said about each other.

Lazy troll. I think it's hilarious how he manipulates some people just by posting.

He manipulates nothing but his post count with this trash. As of this very moment, not a single one of his usual disciples has garnered the stones to give him a “like”.

Speaking of, the “polishing” by y’all has decreased tremendously since the site update. Why is that?
