You are out of your mind if you think Sanders was in control of the NC game! It was classic Phil Fulmer. PF was still in control of that offense until the day Sanders was hit by the Big Orange bus!

As far as the discipline issues Sanders went on record as saying it was very hard to discipline players without the backing of the head football coach. If that wasn't bad enough he had Cut lurking in the shadows after Eli left him exposed in The Grove. The jury is still out on Sanders and I would love to see the guy get another shot.
well I don't watch Kentucky much and if Fulmer sticks with ESPN ......
I went to the Liberty Bowl and sat on the 5th row behind the Kentucky bench. It was scary.
May be in another thread, but this morning Jimmy Sexton said that ESPN and Fulmer were "feeling each other out" during Capital One Bowl Week.
Fulmer did a lot of studio runs in addition to the analyst spots that were aired and ESPN really liked him. According to Sexton, ESPN will be having full-blown SEC pre-game shows next season and Fulmer is a prime candidate for one of the studio analysts. The big question is if Fulmer is willing to travel the the ESPN studio every week.

Randy Sanders reminds me of a position coach/coordinator that gets hired for head coach then bombs a la Orgeron, Buddy Ryan, Mike Martz, etc. etc. Solid position coaches, coordinators, but beyond that, it's a jump with no chute (Spurrier and Pete Carroll to NFL then back to college are other examples).
Sanders is a very good QB coach, but he darn near cost us the NC. We won by a TD against Freshman Danny Outsen, whom had played sparingly in 1998. It was painfully obvious that we were at least 3 TD's better than State that year, but Randy kept them in the game with his play calling (Cut was OC that year and had already gone to Ole Miss).
Excellent QB coach...you can't take that away from him...too good of a track record...beyond that, it would be a complete nightmare.
I saw where somebody was looking at Kevin Gilbride to be a head coach somewhere in the NFL...HUGE mistake...he's a super OC, but no way would he be successful as a head coach.
Hes alot better than Dave ClawsonI am a Miami Hurricane fan... I come in peace with no intention to create an argument, unless we are arguing over who hates UF more.
Anyway, we are looking to hire an OC/QB coach and Randy Sanders seems to be the first name in the rumor mill. It doesnt seem like it will happen, and I hope it doesnt, but the rumor has been brought up a few times by different sources and I came on here to hear opinions by people who actually watched his playcalling and such. Hopefully to be pleasantly surprised and feel a bit more comfortable about these rumors that are swirling around.
Anyways, all opinions are welcome.
