Someone explain to me why he did not at least get a series. JC was obviously having problems. I'm not trying to second guess the coach, but when a starter is struggling it might help to let him regroup with the coach on the sidelines.

When I have seen him play, he looked way better than Boo Crompton.

Kiffin promised crompton was the guy and he stuck to it. You gotta say Kiffin has conviction

Most QBs struggle in their first couple of games.

Any true tennessee fan would say that tennessee is 2-3 years away from competing with any team. A true year would be 3-5 losses. I was exactly pissed when crompton was named starter, but wanted the best for my team. IMO tell who ever the qb is "you dont have to win us the game, but dont lose us the game." Next week, Stephens will start, florida will be just be florida, sorry but we dont have the talent to match. There will be 100 threads saying we should have started crompton and Lane Kiffin sucks. However, if tennessee does win, Stephens should have been named the starter for the first game and Lane Kiffin is the best coach in the sec.

Both made six starts in 2008, with Crompton averaging 111.1 yards passing a game and throwing four touchdowns and five interceptions. Stephens averaged 120 yards passing per game and threw four touchdowns and three interceptions.

Well one thing you need to know here is that kiffin has said before the season - to media even - that he pledges not to pull/ swap quarterbacks in the middle of games. So there's the reason for that

As for the Stephen's skills....well, he was the one that lost to wyoming

and Peyton lost to Memphis State. I don't care if he changes QB's 30 times a game if he thinks that will help.

I'm not some big time Stephens guy, but you're crazy if you don't think the team quit vs Wyoming.

News flash...

Stephens will not be starting next week and more than likely not going to play. Now the week after...probably.

my point is though, he's not going to. He's told that to the media multiple times, and the media most recently noted it in the post game report:

Recap - NCAA - Football - SI.com

Kiffin, who has pledged not to shuffle quarterbacks during games, stuck with Crompton. Tennessee went three-and-out on its next two drives, and Forbath answered with field goals of 31 and 47 yards to give UCLA a 19-10 lead with 2:39 in the third quarter.

CLK knows if he pulls him his career is over. I would have liked CLK to pull him for a series just to calm him down and see if someone else could move the ball.
