I would definetly rather have a Head Coach over an Offensive Coordinator, but if we went after an OC, then I wouldn't mind taking a look at this guy.

Dan Mullen (born April 27, 1972 in Drexel Hill, PA) is an American football coach currently serving as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach of the Florida Gators. He is a 1994 graduate of Ursinus College.

Prior to his time at Florida, Mullen served with current Gators head coach Urban Meyer at Utah, where he was quarterback coach of the Utes during their improbable 2004 season. He developed quarterback Alex Smith into the number 1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. After Mike Sanford left to take the head coaching position at UNLV, Mullen served as the interim offensive coordinator during Utah's Fiesta Bowl victory over Pitt. He also served as quarterback coach under Meyer at Bowling Green in 2001-02.

Interesting, but I don't think that would be the answer

I think he would make a good OC for us, but I doubt he's gonna leave Meyer for the same job @ a different school.Since he's been with Meyer back when he coached @ Bowling Green.

Why in the hell would you want a former Florida gator as our coach? You must be really desperate to sink that low. Maybe like a rb coach like Drayton, But never a OC, DC, or head coach that has coached at florida or under the arrogant, stupid, smart-ass Meyer!!!I am sorry but I can't stand them or him.

I guess you'll be disappointed to find out where that Power T you are using as an avatar came from, then.

First of all he's not the former OC,he's the current OC for Florida, and correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Florida kicked our ass for 4 years now, I'm pretty sure they have.I never said I wanted him either, I said I wanted a proven Head Coach before an OC, but if we were willing to look @ some top OC'S I would like Tennessee to take a look @ him.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with Doug Dickey and where he coached.

Beat me to it.

Personally, if the head toilet-flusher at Florida Field can win the SEC, and compete for National Championships...hire his butt.

It's all about the Vols, baby. You're in, or you're out.

Go Vols.

There would be a huge advantage for Hamilton to hire Mullen. He is young, he can recruit, it would put a kink in Meyers armour, fans expectations would not be so high as quickly and the money to get him would not be as much. There is no doubt the guy has been in some big games and he knows what it takes in this league.

If we were to hire an OC I would choose either Mullen or Steve Sarkisian simple as that

If UT were to look at ANYONE on UF's staff it needs to be Charlie Strong. Not Urbans puppet (Mullen).

I thought about mullen too. And it is curious his name has not popped up anywhere else in the past. He has been a coordinator a decent amount of time.
He must be sheep to his own

Don't think so, Mullen knows all about Meyer's offense, and given the right talent we could run that offense perfectly.

Great. We hire Mullen, run the same offense, still get beat by UF every year because UF defends this offense every day in practice and they have better athletes. Brilliant.

We can run the Spread offense, but not exactly the same. You've got to make changes I'm not that stupid, I know that changes have to be made.
