oh, there's some poor mouthing going on, not necessarily by you. but it's the typical "3* don't want" mentality, and again, a lot of what i see in this thread is uneducated and misinformed, and lacks any vision for what this kind of class may actually do for the future on the field, and future classes.Nobody’s saying he’s doing “poorly”. I said he’s done very good thus far, but he still has work to do....and that for this class to be where it needs to be, he has to close strong with Wright, Crouch, Bogle, et al. I’m not criticizing, just assessing....there’s more work to do to make this class what we need it to be....we can’t be 15th-20th in the country and 7 or 8 in the SEC. History tells us it matters that our classes finish as high as possible in the rankings, whether we like it or not.
Very good class so far, more work to do to make it great, that’s all I’m saying.
MAYBE there is hope for the future- we can hope.Vols in top 10 and still moving!! Gotta love how well CJP is recruiting!

Its not all ratings- look how Missouri owed us for 3-4 years and never had a class higher than 40 .Its kind of sad that you dont understand how good this class really is coming of our worst season in school history. No team above us had anything close to a 4-8 record last year. We havent even played a game and Pruitt already has as at 10. Thats amazing.
I mean what did you expect?
he did not guarantee a #1 class. he said we'd be at the top. the top can be defined how ever you like, but he didn't say #1.
as to the rest, i agree with most all of it.
as for juding CJP, i would only say that up to this point, everything i've seen falls squarely in the categor of "so far so good".
It's not special and we won't stay in the top 10. We're already almost full and our avg. Is below 90 while everyone above us, minus aTm still has a lot more room and avg above 90. For example Ohio state next up at 9 only has 15 players with an avg rating of 92.4.
In before we're lucky to be here after last season. And our players will get bumped.
Truth is, we're only 6th in the sec. That's middle of the road boys. We have to do better
Just an opinion on my part. Unless we replace some of the three star commitments with four and five star commitments between now and signing day we are likely to finish 20 plus in the rankings. I hope I'm wrong but it is simple mathI will take that bet. Anything u want to bet, a 12-pack, change avi's, self ban for a year, any effing thing. There is no way UT finishes out of the top 20 in recruiting, this year. U wanna put your money or whatever, where your mouth is ?
Have you not read the other posts where it is explained that #10 is not a legitimate ranking ? Our rankings will drop significantly unless we replace the 3 star rankings with 4 and 5 star players before signing day. I have not followed recruiting in past years to know if this happens very often.further than 20? lol.
we're already and 10, and have prospects to get to 5 right now. and this class just isn't done yet. there's probably gonna be some movement in this class that will make some room for 1 or 2 more guys.
i'll just put it this way, i'm not concerned one bit about where this class gets ranked. this class is good, and it addresses major needs, with some really quality players. especially on the OL and in the secondary.
To'oto'oBogle is probably going to Miami.
And more likely it's crouch, wright and Hill to cap this class off. This is a really good class. And it will wind up a really good class.
I think there will be a couple of guys currently committed that wind up elsewhere. So I'd look for another WR and another DE/OLB to possibly get in.
So you just picked a side and went with it because it suited your negative outlook? Why do you place more validity on the negative post than you place on the positive? Just curious since you admitted to not knowing if it happens in recruiting or not.Have you not read the other posts where it is explained that #10 is not a legitimate ranking ? I didn't say they wouldn't drop.Explain why the rankings will not drop.
I didn't say they wouldn't drop.
It won't drop outside the top 20. If nothing changes and we add who I think we will close with (wright, crouch, Hill) we'll finish somewhere around 10th. If for some reason we miss on all those, obviously that changes things.
If we create some room (and I think we will) we could wind up inside the top 10.
And if the whole class bails and flips, none of this will be worth taking about.
All you need to do is make sure you ready to grab your Pitchfork if this class is ranked 12th.
It's fluid until the nlis are signed.
I told you why dropping out of the top 20 isn't gonna happen. Not sure what else to tell you.Hey we could wind up # 1 if create enough room and fill them with 5 stars. My comments are based on the UT recruitment's as of today and the number of commitments open to the teams currently ranked in the top 25. If we are at 90% capacity for our commitments then we do not much room to maintain a 10 ranking and may easily drop outside of the top 20. Have you looked at the other teams and seen how many commitments they have left ? Have you done the math ? How can you be sure they will not drop out of the top 20 ?
My emphasis when joining this thread is the original poster make a statement that JP is a master recruiter with a top ten ranking which is far from proven.
And who’s to say all those teams are pulling in a full class as well? The DT cox is going to auburn most likely and I’m hearing Roman Harrison may be odd man outHey we could wind up # 1 if create enough room and fill them with 5 stars. Harris is a candidate due to grades, so that's one to watch. And who’s to say all those teams are pulling in a full class as well? The DT cox is going to auburn most likely and I’m hearing Roman Harrison may be odd man out
