Houston Nutt on Jonathan Crompton

Nutt also said Tennessee senior running back Montario Hardesty, who has rushed for 901 yards and eight touchdowns so far this season, is "probably top three in our league."

There are seriously two better backs? I like Ingram, but I seriously think Hardesty would be better than Ingram behind that same Bama Oline.

This is all just odd to me. Clawfence has his QB this year I saw #2 in the nation in some category. I was to shocked to pay closer attention, by the way I think they still stink could be wrong. Now the question. A Richmond QB picked the offense up and had alot of success. Now his QB, which is probably 2-3 star coming out at best, has picked the offense up. Why couldn't Crompton, who was the #2 QB in the nation coming out, and the rest of the offense, true D 1 talent, execute the offense.

I defended JC when I thought he was getting unfair criticism earlier this year... and that defense applies to last year as well.

For all of last year and the first part of this year, JC couldn't count on the receivers to be where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there... or to catch it when they were. Clawson said that JC was a great student and knew the O. CLK said basically the same thing. Neither really threw the WR's under the bus... but they also indicated that there were alot of bad reads, bad routes, and misplays by that group.

If you were a catcher and the whole pitching staff routinely cross you up... and you were bitterly criticized and even threatened because of all the "pass balls" you were allowing... and you didn't have confidence throwing base stealers out because you were never sure what the pitch was... How could you overcome that gap in trust?

You're being a homer. Ingram > Hardesty. Ben Tate isn't bad either.

I don't think anyone considers McCluster a true running back. Even his coach.

Maybe not, that was just the only possibility I could come up with for saying Hardesty was 3rd. I assumed he was insinuating a list of Ingram, McCluster, MH.

I would think he was referring to Tate, as I indicated above. He really didn't say Hardesty was third, just grouped the top 3 together. I think when you ask anyone those are the 3 that come to mind. Dixon may deserve to be in there...

Top 3 offensive players maybe. I think he's the best runningback in the league. Mark Ingram is a beast, but I just don't see the same all around game out of the backfield, blocking, etc that Hardesty has. That comes with experience, but nevertheless...
